People who have been to King's Island probably have driven past this. It was an amusing thing to see, to be honest. Unfortunately, the lightning strike started a fire, which destroyed the statue and almost spread to the church itself. All that was left was the steel support structure.

Was it struck by lightening because it was a graven image, or was it to show the passing heathens the power of God? It was, after all, an act of God... The little blighter does like to move in mysterious ways though.

It was a pretty unique landmark, but at least I got to see it before it burned down.

Awww... ewww. I loved that statue. I always wanted to get a picture with it doing the O-H-I-O. My drives down I75 will be much more dimmed with its passing.
