Also known as The Rumor Mill in the Americas. Ryktemølla for us Norwegians.

Where to start with this topic... I've often come across statements like "Intamin sold three of those to European parks. Park X got one, park Y got another, wonder where the third will go?" or "Yeah, Genericland has been rumoured to get an Eurofighter for a long time. Seems like it's due for it next year". Basically, small tidbits of news that aren't 100% confirmed, or not big enough to qualify for their own topic, but "everyone" knows about them, apparently. As a result of their little substantiness and low "hit rate", those are rarely posted here, seeing as they are most often found by experienced members who don't like to post what they don't know for sure.

Other times, it might just be markers found in a park, Twitter messages from park managers or industry insiders, statements from expo stands, etc. Or long time runners such as the fabled Bigger One or Southend Swine, who despite their relative fame on the forums are rarely talked about.

Anyway, I wanted to create a topic for this kind of thing. It might be more suitable for General Discussions, seeing as a lot of this might be old news, but then again, it's called "News & Rumours". This topic is the place for the little things, so to speak. Did a ride op tell you about a project for next year? Did a park's fansite suddenly explode with discussion? Post it in here! Have you heard some fantastic park related gossip, but feel like you should take it with a pinch or two of salt? The Rumour Mill is the place! Just because it might never happen doesn't mean it shouldn't be talked about. We all like to ride coasters, and most of us also like to speculate about them. Especially younger members like to rave on about potential news, but they are shunned wherever they do it. Not in here.
Just remember to state a source. This is after all a rumour mill, not a garbage compactor.

To begin with an example myself, the assistant manager of TusenFryd appeared as a judge in a quiz show on Norwegian TV last year. A guy was quizzed in coaster knowledge, and after the final round he asked the judge what he would most like to see at TusenFryd in the future. The assistant manager replied that he had a soft spot for inverted coasters, something that would also be a novelty in Scandinavia. TusenFryd has also stated (here, link in Norwegian) that they want to build a "major new attraction" every three years, so they are due for something big soon, seeing as the last big thing they built was in '09.

Have you heard anything unconfirmable, be it from past or present? Please tell! And don't forget the source!
