Sesame Place theme park proposed for Williamsburg

Not sure if we already have a thread on this, but Busch Gardens Williamsburg have recently conducted a survey asking guests for their thoughts on a new Sesame Place theme park/water park in Williamsburg. If it happens, this proposal will incorporate BGW's existing Sesame Street Forest of Fun area (blocking it off from the existing park) alongside three other themed areas; The Neighbourhood, Central Park and Seaside. The rest of the new park will be constructed on BGW's present "France" car park.

So, what will the new park feature if it comes to fruition? Well, there are four themed areas in the park, which are Forest of Fun, The Neighbourhood, Central Park and Seaside. Let's start with The Neighbourhood:
The Neighbourhood
  • Will act as the park's entrance area and hub so to speak.
  • There are many shops and restaurants in the area, as is typical of many park entrances.
  • There appears to be a large theatre in the area, indicating some form of entertainment.
  • There also appears to be a parade.
  • There will also be a character meet'n'greet area.
So, that was The Neighbourhood. Let's move on to the next themed area:
Central Park
Now, the proposal didn't really reveal much about this area, other than that:
  • It will feature some sort of ride under a fabric roof, rumoured to be a carousel.
  • It will also feature another circular flat ride, alongside trees and small structures.
As there wasn't really much to speak of in Central Park, let's move on to the next themed area:
Forest of Fun
Now, this is BGW's pre-existing Sesame Street area, and it will remain largely the same, apart from that:
  • A couple of the rides look to be receiving rethemes.
  • It looks to be nearly doubling in size, with the addition of a large new green space, possibly for some new flats in the future.
As Forest of Fun is largely remaining the same, let's move on to the final themed area:
Seaside
Seaside is the largest themed area in the park, and looks to be a water park-style area, featuring:
  • Three separate slide complexes.
  • A wave pool
  • A large water play structure.
So, that's what Sesame Place Williamsburg will look like if it comes to fruition. I personally think it's an interesting idea, and that it will probably be a hit for BGW. Also, here are two BGWFans articles regarding this:
