Schlitterbahn Kansas City building tallest and fastest slide

Schlitterbahn announced in November 2012 there will build a Meg-A- Blaster the tallest and fastest waterslide in the world for the 2013 season.

The ride will break the record from Insano at Beach Park Fortalezza in Brasilia it stands 134,5 feet high and 65.2 miles per hour.

The ride will be a 4 person slide and the most extreme waterslide in the world.

Finally, someone is taking the title from Brazil, somewhere more accessible has been needed for a long time for the new world record. I'll be looking forward to seeing it completed.

^ No. They're building a 100ft slide, the tallest has been off the cards for ages.

160 foot slide? That seems a bit ridiculous. Wouldn't the water sting to a degree at that speed? Overkill.

It JUST scrapes it as far as I can see, by a metre or so. Ha.

Well at only 120ft, Summit Plummit **** hurts, so don't even think of another 40ft on top. SP feels like somebody is giving you a good punching in your back & arse-cheeks.

So I've always wondered about these water slide records.
There's a slide in Italy called Spacemaker that stands at 42m according the the park's website - that's 137 feet.

Why is this slide not considered as the world's tallest?

^ I'm a bit sceptical about this measurement, but it is most probably higher than 100 feet, most certainly also the biggest one in Europe. The one in Canevaworld is also somewhere around its height
