just started a new park. called sandbox at the moment because i couldn't be bothered trying to think of a name. i am a bit of an amateur at this as i usually just play the game and build rollercoasters and do nothing else. But i thought i would give doing a real park a try.

just some pics of the start of the park

First up, please read the rules about screen sizes.

Secondly, for a beginner, the park has a good enough start. I'm not going to comment too much at the moment, as it's depressing when people comment too much

It's got good foundations really ,with a little bit of interesting land changes and the like. I'm not going to lie though, it looks like a beginners project

However, that isn't such a bad thing. Everyone starts somewhere, and the more you experiment and play about, the better your work gets. At the moment, it all looks 'functional', and you've taken the easy route to build everything up. That's okay, as you learn more, you'll be able to flex your designer muscles and come up with more interesting park layout, more organic landscaping, and more aesthetically pleasing buildings.

I know it's not much help, but it'll be good to see you build and build, and the more we see, the more advice we'll be able to give.

For the moment, best advice I can give is "800x600 screenshots!!!"

Hmmm... Where next? It looks like all ways lead into dead blocked ends.

The kiddie looks really good though. I would build some big-ish service buildings around the entrance area, but don't make them more than one story tall. Also, place your big rides near the back of your park.

My only advice would be to have a look at real parks, and pick up layout tips from there. And don't build entirely flat.

Like Furie has already said. You can see that it's done by a beginner instantly (but everyone has to start somewhere). Try modelling it off real parks, and doing a bit more to the landscape.
Also, get rid of that big staircase as parks don't have those, and they certainly don't make you up a staircase to walk down a ramp again.
Try and fit in some more buildings and foliage and getting rid of some park objects (benches, street lamps etc.) as you've over done it a bit.
The best thing do do with parks is do it area by area and not move onto the next until you've completely finished the first area or you usually find yourself not being bothered to change it.
It's a good start though. :)

There speaks somebody who has clearly never been to a Scandinavian theme park!

Only it's escalators there, but you can pretend!
