here's the Beyern Kurve which existed at Hansa park until 2015......

I don't know if the Uk has ever had one of these rides?

The forwards backwards forwards launch thing mentioned in the first post seems to be taking off of late. Dragonfire (Premier), Capitol Bullet Train and Star Trek (Mack) and Soaring Dragon (Intamin) all use this trick. I guess it combines the best bits of an Impulse style ride and a full circuit. And as Pokemaniac mentioned we are expecting an Intamin Impulse at Wanda Wuxi next year. interesting to see a new one go in 13 years after the last new one opened at Valley Fair.

I would have to think the continued streamlining of LSM launches has helped with that growth too. LSM's are far cheaper than LIM, and can be installed in a much smaller package, making them ideal for smaller footprint roller coasters.

Which also leads me to say for other ride types that have died out... the LIM launch. :p

^ Huh? The Vekoma model is older than B&M's, they only exist in the USA (the Stingray in China is a different model completely) and they only ever built 3 of them.
