Now I actually have to complete my own!

(Oh, and expect the Steel Poll to start soon, I sent the new ballot just a couple days after I sent the wood.)

I tried last year and messed it up.

Saying that my count this year is tiny compared to last year.

Just completed the wood poll. I have only done 17 wooden coasters so it did not take that long.

Where do you send it though? I have read the instructions ans can not find it.

Nah, but I've been helping Mitch with it for the past three years. He's got young kids and works in a school district, so end of coaster season is a busy time for him.

I've made a few suggestions, some he's used, others he hasn't. It's definitely still his poll, though.

As to the poll starting earlier this year? Actually, we're a bit late this time. Usually he wants to get it out there in October, but life makes that a challenge! (He's actually been considering moving the start to September, but...

As for it being 'difficult' to do this?

I start with a fresh ballot every year. I have the previous year's ballot open for comparison at the same time, and despite having well over 100 woodies on my ballot, I was done in under 2 hours. It's easier if you just edit your previous ballot, but the first time doing it can be a challenge. The process itself is very easy, it's the actual ranking that seems to cause the most grief.

If you put it off, it only gets more difficult as your coaster count increases!


It isn't really that hard. It's a simple text file.

The idea that it was too difficult is why we split the instructions from the ballot, too. That way you can have them open while you are looking at your ballot in separate windows. (Plus the Steel ballot is getting rediculously long.)

It got difficult after about number 9 as there's not a lot to really distinguish between the coasters. The top 9 there are all outstanding and well above the quality of the others. The next ten are all "mediocre/fun" and the last 10 where just kiddy coasters or coasters of doom!
