Been following Liseberg on Facebook for quite a while now, unfortunately they post in Swedish, but they have posted a lot of construction photos from the past, including some really old photos.

Wow, those are some really old pictures! Anybody know what happend to the woodie? Where was it located and why did they remove it? I mean the old woodies at Bakken and Tivoli Gardens are still in operation and they are very popular among the guests :)

Bergbanan was scrapped/chopped up, I think that they had trouble to maintain it and it was an accident waiting to happen since the "brakeman's" were competing on who is the fastest :)
It had several accidents during the time it was running, even a couple of deaths. So Liseberg replaced it with Lisebergbanan instead.

It was located along the Möldalsån between Spelhuset and Kristallsalongen and was facing tyrolen (where JukeBox and the Kanonen top-hat is and TopSpin was).

I still envy my brother that he have that credit though...

About the Rutchebanen coasters, the one at Tivoli is great and a crowd puller, but I think that the one at Bakken have seen it's days now, especially since they introduced the new trains and breaking system. It's no way near as good as it were before :(

If you look in the gallery called "Lisebergbanan blir till" then you can see that Bergbanan can be seen in the background of some images, like this one: CLICK, so spring 1987 would be my best guess.
