Las Vegas rides

I'm off to Vegas next month and I was just trying to figure if there's any rides there actually work bothering about?

I was having a look on YouTube and the Stratosphere rides at the top don't look like anything special and the coaster at New York New York looks very average at best, so is there anything I should look out for? (any of the Zip lines / Skyjump from the top of stratosphere etc?)

...I'm heading to Orlando on the same trip so I'm wondering if I should just wait until then to hit the rides / coasters and just spent the time in Vegas partying?

I'd say do the Vegas rides. Sure, they're nothing special, but they don't take any time at all and are well-located. You can easily mop them up while doing other things on the strip.

Personally, I quite liked the coaster at New York New York. The El Loco at Circus Circus is the best of its type and the rides at the Stratosphere are worth it for the height. They're perfect examples of crap rides made special thanks to location.

Desperado at buffalo bills looks ok, not sure how far it is from Vegas? I also thought they had a huge waterpark being built, not sure if that's open yet though

Yeah, if you're going to Vegas you might as well ride the coasters. They take very little time to ride (they rarely have big queues), and are quite unique.

Big Apple Coaster at New York New York is alright - definitely not as bad as I was lead to believe, but seeing as you'll likely be stood underneath the station if you got into the casino, it's worth nabbing.

Adventuredome is decent enough. They didn't have the El Loco when I visited, but Canyon Blaster was alright.

I didn't actually do any of the rides on the Stratosphere. I seem to remember two of them (Big Shot and Insanity, I think) were closed, and I wasn't all that fussed for Scream. I do recommend going up the tower anyway though, the view is pretty great!

Desperado at Buffalo Bill's wasn't that great to be honest. It's about a 40 minute drive from Vegas, so it's not difficult to do. And again, another quite unique one.

Thanks for the heads up - I'll hopefully catch a few of those during my trip
- I did quite like the look of Slotzilla just for the cheesyness factor so might try to catch it as well!

I would recommend the Stratosphere Tower, as that is my favorite collection of rides. Both Insanity and X-Scream are true nail biters, and quite fun to experience.

The New York New York coaster is worth riding, but indeed only for credit alone. I rode it with the old Togo trains, however I haven't heard of much improvement with the "new" trains.

The Adventuredome indeed is pretty cool, and I really enjoyed their Arrow multi looper. Now if only they would rebuild Speed the Ride - that was a fun ride!
