The press release doesn't say why/how it developed a fault, but I wonder if maintenance of the ride can be questioned here.

It smells a bit fishy that the park put it up for sale in January and then this happens. I'm not saying they don't maintain it properly but perhaps costs have been reduced somewhere. It's probably just one of those things but I thought I'd throw that in the mix.
