i305 Trims - Gone (before & after videos posted)

Intimidator 305 when it opened. it hurt your legs there was so much airtime, but they added trimming brakes which made it more mild.

Those trims are long gone!

Is this true?

Yes. The trims were there because the forces were eating the wheels going into the airtime hill. Because of the change in the first hill, less forces are being exerted somewhat so they can let it scream.

On a side note, wasnt that a promise given by the park before they started construction or was that enthusiast said?

You can see the adjustment's they made to the exit of the curve at the bottom of the first drop in these videos I filmed.

I think they did a great job with making just a very minor change to the track layout to reduce the wheel friction, but they've put the trims back on the last hill. The ride is almost as intense as it was those first few weeks after opening.

How is it doing with people blacking out now that these changes have been made? I loved nearly blacking out when I rode it! Please tell me this didn't change anything...

No, that part hasn't changed. Most people have grey outs, but if you blacked out before you'll probably still blackout now.

It's practically perfect the way it is now. The first drop is back to normal and everything after that is as intense as it first was, and the trims on the last airtime hill don't grab very strongly.

Before they were the standard Intamin OTSR like on KDK and Maverick. Now they look more like a comfy vest OTSR.

but the entire shape of them has changed and they are closer to the body.

Why did they suddenly decide to change the restraints? I'm thinking it was due to the side to side headbanging. I felt the headbanging on Maverick. It wasn't quite Vekoma status, but it was still very annoying and uncomfortable.

I mean the shape of them has completely changed. And they seem to have done this along with the overhaul of the drop and the removal of the trims.

They actually changed the restraints last year (a few months after installing the trims on the drop) & nothing has changed with regards to the restraints since.

So they are different restraints, not just padding on the old ones.
I really hope Intamin at least uses these OTSRs if they are going to continue with OTSRs instead of the lap bars used on Formula Rossa.

i was under the impression that they were completely knew restraints.
im so glad that they have made the alterations they have. the ride is just absolutely insane. theres nothing like it.
