Hayling Island

Yesterday on the way back from London we made a stop at Hayling Island. I hadn't been before and there were a few credits there.
It was pretty cheap. £7 for an unlimited ride wristband.
I'm also pleased with how some of my photos came out. It was a nice hot day so we had a brilliant blue sky which made the photos even nicer. :)

The first thing I noticed about Hayling Island though is that 9/10 people in the area were either really overweight or really loud when they spoke. It just seemed everyone was like that. It was pretty funny though seeing alot of fat people walking round shouting at each other.

The first thing you see when you get near the park is the drop tower. It's pretty big and the drop looked pretty powerful. Although it was closed most the time we were there as it was having problems. :(

They also had a spinning thing like Vortex. I don't usually like these sort of rides if they spin lots. Vortex I can handle but this was doing about 3 rotations per swing so gave it a miss. Got some nice photos of it though. :D

Anyway we got into the park and got our wristbands. They were pretty good quality wristbands as well. Not just the price but they were made of a soft foam and had a cool popper thing to keep it closed.
The only bad thing was that after we got out the park the band was impossible to get off. I wanted to remove it without having to cut through the band. The popper wasn't coming undone so I tried using my teeth. The popper then snapped and I almost cut my tongue open. I then had to use scissors and loads of strength to break through it. It was kinda ridiculous.

Anyway, back to the rides. First off we headed for Klondike

The queue for this was quite short but it took ages to get on. Even though they had two trains they were sending one about every 5 minutes. We finally got on though. The ride is extremely rough. No wonder Drayton got rid of it. :p
The loop was forceful and I thought the back of the seat in front was going to hit me in the face a couple of times. There are a couple of good tunnels though and a few good head choppers. :)

Next we headed for the next credit which was right next to Klondike. Woody's coaster. It's just a common clone with an added tunnel on the roof of the station. We got three laps though and it's pretty fast at the bottom of the helix.

The ride even took your photo.

On the way to our next ride we walked past a cool looking Teacup ride so I took a picture. :)

We then headed to the Bumper Cars which were good fun. They were faster than normal ones and the floor was quite slippery so you got some good spins when you hit someone. :)

We then headed down towards the other end of the park. As we were going under the tent thing we had a quick go on the Helter Skelter.

There were also a few other kiddie rides in this area that we didn't ride.

We the headed on to a tiny log flume. It was just an oval layout with a small drop. But the ride had a pretty cool ice theme and model penguins that were quite amusing. :)

We then got the parks third and final credit which was the Super Dragon. It's quite jerky like the one in Alton is but we got three laps on this coaster as well and I got some footage for my video.
4320_1170379936743_1145311439_511962_4037419_n.jpg

We decided to try to ride the bigger log flume. But the queue was huge and they only had about 4 boats going round which they were only half loading which was stupid. So we gave up on that quickly and headed back to re-ride Klondike. There was no queue this time but it still took ages to get on. There was also some gobby little kids around 8/9 years old swearing loudly at each other. Including F*ck off, S**t and Cnnt. What charming language for small overweight children. We

After this we felt some dinner was in order so we went into the Wimpy there. It's themed to an American Diner which was pretty funny as you had the huge seats that are there for all the fat Americans. :p
Which worked out quite well seeing how many people here seemed to be overweight. Their loud voices came in handy as well when they called out our order number we didn't miss it.

The Statue of Liberty joined us for our dinner.

The Americans also seek volunteers to fill the meat in their burgers. It's not cow you eat you know.
4320_1170380376754_1145311439_511973_6122666_n.jpg

After our burgers we had one quick go on the Helter Skelter again, then we brought an ice cream and decided to head home. I drove the car back but we got stuck in standstill traffic all the way to the bridge of the island back to mainland. Which is a bloody long way as it's the entire length of the island in solid traffic. Just over an hour later we got through it all and the road cleared so we set of home then. :)

So that was my trip to Hayling Island. Hope you enjoyed reading it (Bet most of you just skimmed it in a few seconds :p). And I'll probably make a video with all the footage I got as well. :D

^ I read it all :)

Nice PTR Ollie, and I need to get to Hayling now as only £7 and looks to be a good few hours of moderately sized fun, as well as 3 credits :)

*Takes mental note*

You didn't do Tornado!? See even I don't do those sort of rides but always ride Tornado as it can give amazing rides, as sometimes it dosen't spin until at full height, thats the best cycle.

Also Klondike isn't that rough....it has very snappy transitions which just cause slight jerks ;)

Poop. Just realised Super Dragon is the coaster that used to be at Drayton. Going from 93 to 92 on my CC now. :(

Lol Ollie, did you not notice the 'DRAYTON MANOR' signs plastered all over the tunnel? :D

Epic trip report, I love small parks like this.

It actually says Dragon Manor. Ah well. I still got the two other credits. :)

Klondike used to be at Drayton Manor too. Hope you haven't counted that  .

Nice report, looking forward to viewing the photos later when I'm on a decent computer  .

^I never got the chance to go on Klondike when it was at Drayton Manor so it didn't matter. :)

The video has finished uploading now. Sorry for the lack of good shots as we were only there for a while and I didn't have much time to get alot of footage.
