New for 2011: The Snake of Midgard - Get ready for the Family Adventure 2011

After launching the “Curse of Novgorod” HANSA-PARK will greet its guests in the 2011 season with yet another roller coaster challenge. The new attraction will carry riders off into the legendary world of the Vikings.

Once more the park presents a coaster that is wrapped in an exciting story: two children, the Viking boy Einar and his older sister Elin of the Viking settlement of Hedeby, sneak into the shed of a famous Nordic storyteller. In the shed there is a legendary dragon boat which they are familiar with from the poet’s stories. The poet always talked of seafaring and the many adventures he allegedly had on board the ship, of his trade trips to the Varangians, of coming face to face with Norwegian pirates, of his trips to Greenland and his journey to the end of the world and the snake of Midgard. Suddenly people are approaching and the children hide in one of the sea boxes on the dragon boat. And all of a sudden, the magic ship starts to move....

The new attraction will be the theme park’s sixth coaster and can be enjoyed by anyone taller than 1 meter.

Midgard is one of the nine worlds of Norse mythology & the park boasts that this will be the only fully themed family coaster in Germany that also tells a story. Like Fluch von Novgorod it will have it's own original composition music soundtrack & the park is filming multiple trailers, the first to be available later this month, telling the background story.
No statistical details have been released.

Hansa Park has also announced an expansion to the Theme World "HANSE in EUROPA“ to include Bruges, Groningen and Paris (see same park website link as above).

RCDB list it as a Gerstlauer. [I should learn to read - Jerry already said that :p]

It's not going to be another Eurofighter obviously. The phrase, "...the children hide in one of the sea boxes on the dragon boat. And all of a sudden, the magic ship starts to move....", sounds very specific. Boat-themed train? That would rule out a Spinner.
