The final days of the stand up train will be at the "ultimate rollercoaster party" between the 3rd-5th of November.
Shame we are loosing are only stand up but considering the park becoming more family a sit down 1.2m height requirement fits the park better.

It's the same layout at 120ft high and four inversions it's still thrilling, now even younger guests can ride it. Also hopefully it will be more comfortable and re-rideable.

Does this confirm that Drayton Manor are only purchasing one sit-down train? Surely if they're replacing the trains, it would make sense to purchase 2 for optimal capacity?

Shockwave hasn't ran more than one train in many years so capacity isn't at the forefront of their decisions.

I think it was confirmed somewhere that the new train is Intamin as part of a new deal with the new coaster.

Regardless of who's making the train, Theme Park Worldwide have confirmed that it'll feature lapbar restraints in their "The Last Stand" vlog. Not sure how they know this but given that Shawn was chatting with Victoria Lynn a while back and DM have just given him a load of Shockwave signage, the park has probably just told them this info. Lapbars will definitely be a welcome improvement over the bulky Intamin OTSRs though.

Just read this wonderful article and thought I'd share with you all.
Apparently, Drayton is turning Shockwave into the family thrill coaster and moving it to where Apocalypse used to be!

Little digging, these are ART Engineering trains - which I believe are currently found on Impulse, Cannibal and Wicked.
I didn't realise that Zierer subcontracted these trains to ART, but, if you look at the order of build from Wicked > Bombora > Cannibal, it seems to make sense that the park went with ART direct instead of Zierer.

If it does end up being those trains pictured, it'll certainly bring a new twist to it. Will still miss the stand up side of things, but lap bars are unexpected and a welcome addition.
Plus, I've ridden those exact trains pictured. Great seats, very open feeling, will work brilliantly here.

That's true, however they're leaning into the "family thrill" demographic a lot more now than they were to back in 2005.
That would be awesome, there's definitely wasted potential. I doubt it'll happen though.
