The only worthy successor would be another S&S launch coaster but modern in my opinion, but I get why they'd not want to do that, S&S reliability is so bad.

I'm gutted as like many I never got to ride, but maybe they will replace it with something more dynamic. Intamin multi Launch ? Pretty please ?
