California Adventure before California Adventure

I've been trying to find pictures of the spot that California Adventure is in from before it was built, but it's proving rather difficult, am I right in thinking it was just a lake?

If anybody could assist me it would be greatly appreciated.

So, for those of us who don't know, a dumb question: where do people park nowadays?

(when it was built) World's largest parking structure, then they get shuttled in. It's a bit of a hike to walk, by shuttling, you are submerged in the Disney, but by walking you are in regular land crossing streets and entering downtown Disney that way. Nobody walks really.

The thing is **** massive. Just image search Disney parking garage.
