As it swoops in towards a very likely opening this year, the Not-American Triple Loop now has a website; https://indianabeach.com/all-american-triple-loop/

Minimum height requirement is 48”, which if it’s accurate that they’ve gone with the old Mindbender trains is completely based, since that ride had a 59” ruling. I cleared the line by two inches in the sixth grade, but was thrown off of the ride after ride ops decided there was a chance I could wiggle out of the stupid OTSRs. Not cool with missing that coaster. Looking forwards to seeing how this plays out.

Friend of mine (OneClickGang on Insta) did a drive by this afternoon for some very Not Coaster updates;

The La Feria jankship (Weber Traumboot) is fully set up. Who knows, it could even open this year.

The other bit is that Six Flags Great America has offloaded their old King Chaos top spin in the same bulk deal that lead to Revolution and Mardi Gras Hangover being trucked out to Niagara. Six Flags retired it way back in 2017 for the latter ride and it’s sat in storage for the last several years. Would IB ever set it up? Where would they put it? There’s no telling but it’s nice to think about.

I prefer the Weber Traumboot to the Huss Ranger as the former has a better headroom for tall guys like me. Already planned this for a "around Chicago" trip next year.

Would IB ever set it up? Where would they put it?

They could do a "German Funfair" section...

Any update on the former Cascabel - Schwarzkopf Shuttle-Loop - which went to their Niagara park? :D

None. Still sitting there in a story state while the train remains at IB. Not likely to be set up. Niagara is commissioning as many rides as they’re able but not that one for the foreseeable future.

Well LOL doesn't seem like inspectors were down with that idea.

They had to up it 11 inches. Is this the most drastic height requirement revision we've seen on any coaster?

Yeah that's terrifying, I have never heard of a lift hill rollback since the tragic event in Battersea 1972 😬, hopefully it never runs with 2 trains.

This doesn’t exactly inspire confidence for those of us who were already wary about trusting them with a refurbished Quimera.

Of all of the park maintenance departments in the industry, Indiana Beach is one of them.

Jesus Christ. I've never seen anything like that before. I'd be amazed if OSHA or whatever they are in America (would be HSE here in the UK) aren't stopping operations now.

Ride should be condemned.

From what I'm reading the tire drives themselves are supposed to hold the train should it stop on the lift, but that could be wrong for all I know. Going by the black railing in front of where the cameraman stands it had rained recently, so it could be the tires were too wet to stop the train and it slipped through all of them.

Edit: There is an additional tire placed before every other pair that looks like it would be used to help hold the train in place. Back in Mexico it had the same setup.

From what I've read all the others (with the exception of Alpinia Bahn) have been fitted with a new anti rollbacks because of this possibility. Seems insane Indiana beach haven't opted for the same retrofit.

Back in those days when that ride circulated at German fun fairs that roll back would have been disastrous with (correct my if I'm wrong) up to four trains in use. Apparently something like that did never happen. Now since they only run one train on the course (that's correct, right?) it's potentially much less of a deal, provided of course the speed is kept to an acceptable level so that the transition into the station does not cause any discomfort or injuries. That being said, does anyone know how it felt for the people in that train? Were they ok? I'm just wondering if the anti-rollback system has been changed actually even tolerating such a maneuver for the one-train operation (as said provided that roll-back provides acceptable forces which I cannot really assess from the video, in particular as the view is partly blocked by the station). In that case the event would have been much less of a deal than we currently think. But that's just speculation at this point...
