No-one else think that theyoungentrepreneur is a regular CFer or someone from another site trying to wind us up?

Why are we even bothering to slaughter his business ideas?

Possibly this, or Steve Goodwin!

Surely one of the site team can just do an IP check to see if it's just another CFer being a twat..?

IP is Philippines based. Could be a proxy, but it's a little elaborate for a "joke". I don't see any reason not to take the idea seriously?

Though obviously a lot more thought really needs to go into the business plan idea. Other people know a hell of a lot more about the business side, but you really need to find your land first and know what kind of things stand in your way. Rides are really the absolute last thing you need to be looking at. We can't really help with pricing either due to the fact delivery and exchange rates make such an enormous difference (Griffon cost considerably less per £ than Th13teen at Alton Towers ( a kiddy coaster essentially).

There are companies who specialise in this kind of thing, ECG linked to one recently. They bring together all the things you need. I'd certainly recommend seeking a professional rather than some enthusiasts on a forum.

Erm... Link...

Well real or not this person is requesting information on the theme park industry and i feel obliged to help him as an enthusiast.

Theme parks can vary immensly in size, some are only the size of a few football pitches while others are more than 500 arces.

In the enthusiast community what matters is ride expirience, theming and atmosphere among other things. Usually the general public has a more blunt perception of what makes a good park and are often impressed by numerous inversions or visually impressive rides.

Unless you have a spare 500 million or so British pounds at your disposal i would not reccomend a roller-coaster on the scale of Griffon etc. If i had enough say, 17million pounds i would start with a few small rides which almost epitomise the deffinition of a theme park including a reputable well themed log-flume, a dark ride (a flat-tracked indoor ride where you slowly progress through different scenes and effects), some flat rides (like a pirate ship or a teacups ride) and perhaps one relatively large coaster. But also i think a great emphasis must be given to theming, overall attention to detail and landscaping.

And if this is a joke, the last laugh will always be had by me because i LOVE talking about theme parks :p

Okay. Do you really need to IPed me? I don't care if people will believe me or not. I'm just seeking help from let say semi-experts in this field. And yes, our group revised the whole business plan regarding to others opinion towards our half-baked target market. And to clear things out i'm not part of any groups or whatever if that is your concern. And yes i'm not a regular CFer or the like 'cause i'm a full time student getting things done and seriously. And yes, we only have two small theme parks here that's the reason why we want to be involved in this kind of business. For our critics this maybe hard for a group of young entrepreneurs like us but don't underestimate us. For those willing to help thank you very much. And for those negative comments I appreciate it because we get motivated every time people don't believe in us :)

To be honest, it isn't a case of me just thinking, "Oh this has to be fake" because you're young, it's just that you'd need a LOT of money to get this park up and running and would't see a profit for a few years after opening. Can you honestly, hand on heart, think that you have investors who are willing to spend the millions in costs in this current economical climate and not see a return any time soon?

I'm not being nasty, I am actually asking these questions. :)

Yes. There are investors who really want to invest in theme park industry in our country. As I said earlier the industry in the Philippines is still raw no perfect competition at all. And we are working simultaneously in our business plan in theme park and water park. And trying to get it done within 2 months. :)

Well if its true.. I'll come work for you. I need a job and always wanted to visit.. Philippines was it? Oo.. I'll blend right in.. tan and all.

@ Snoo
We appreciate your interest of helping us. I consulted our group and they conclude to decline your offer. Reason? Just to reduce our expenses in conducting this research. And they believe that minimum wage here in our country won't satisfy your needs compared to your salary their in the US. Hope you understand :)

I would love to help you but the business classes I'm taking/have taken never actually touched on the topic of business.
But if I were you rides would be the last thing I would worry about. But I'd start with something cheap to start the park with. I'd go for something like a B&M when the park grows more.
Also if you follow everybody's advice, can we all have free season passes, and plane tickets?
