Small News From The Theme Park Industry

The ride experience should define the shape more than what looks good or like the others. As does the intended route. If Zamperla got that right or not is another matter.

For the Skyline pitch, sure its a nice idea, but have they got any history of having a pleasant ride? Their earlier promotional material must have been good enough to sell a second prototype after the first new concept was less than stella.

A couple of new family rides have been announced for Hansa-Park for 2022. The park will add a new themed area next to the log flume and Fluch von Novgorod named "Peterhof von Novgorod," and it will feature a small drop tower named "Turm von Peterhof" and an open-air merry-go-round (similar to this one at Plopsaland, it appears) named "Die Tierkinder von Peterhof" (The Animal Children of Peterhof). 2022 will also see further theming additions to the entrance area and other renovations throughout the park.

It's good to see that the park is still investing, even if the additions remain on the smaller side. Hope the next big thrill addition isn't too far away.

Meanwhile, in Iowa...

2022 - Nine New Rides and More - (9/8/21) Adverntureland has confirmed that several new rides are coming to the park next season, but at least three others will be retired to make room. The list of three rides leaving the park include the Falling Star, Lighthouse and Lady Luck. While there are various reasons to remove each, primarily they say it comes down to the fact that parts to repair them are also no longer available.
Meanwhile a collection of 9 new rides will be added to the park next season:
The Warhawks (Zamperla Flying Tigers)
Bernie’s Swing (Zamperla Happy Swing)
The Lighthouse (Zamperla Pump & Jumpz?)
The Revolution (Zamperla Rockin’ Tug)
Leap Frogs (Zamperla Jump Around)
Circus Balloons (Zamperla Samba Balloon)
The Clipper (some kind of mini swing ship)
Speedway Racers (Zamperla Speedway)
Rockin’ Rainbow (Wave Swinger)
The park will also hos the Des Moines Renaissance Faire in the south-east corner of their property in May 2022. You can see a preview video of the new attractions coming in 2022 on the park’s Facebook page. .
As for the Raging River ride that was involved in a fatality earlier this year, the park claims that the future of that ride is still “undergoing review”.

There are increasing rumblings on Twitter that Thirteen at Alton Towers may have “crashed” in some form yesterday (click the first post to read the whole thread):
Compared to the likes of The Smiler, however, this is comparatively quite minor; from what I can gather, a train failed to engage with the lift hill, and then rolled back up to the station, bumping into the train behind.

If it’s anything to go off of, the ride has been closed all day today.

This is still not good, however; not good at all. I hope everyone involved is OK.

I wonder why we didn’t see any press reports about it, though…

I feel like ending your call to action by calling your opponent 'mentally insane' may not paint you and your movement in the best light in this particular instance, but what do I know...

But what do I know?
And actively threatening them!

I didn't think Conneat Lake was up to much, and I've got the creds, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Trip report from a while back below - best thing there was the scooters and some of those on that trip (@Snoo, @Error, @Hyde, @Antinos, @pkiknex25, @Youngster Joey) may remember our day there.

I try to actively block out Conneaut Lake from my memory. 😅
