Big update from PNE Playland in Vancouver, Canada today that they'll be adding a new Zamperla launched coaster

Watch through the live feed here.

A couple of screen grabs from the video (at an oblique angle)

The coaster in the video however is clearly Senzafiato the recently closed and currently missing intamin hydraulic launched coaster from Miragica in Italy. https://rcdb.com/4194.htm

Have to assume Zamperla are refurbishing the ride, perhaps removing the hydraulic launch and replacing it with LSMs. 👀👀👀

Never heard of this Intamin... another one of their Rita spin-offs? The top hat looks cute.

Here's the press release; https://www.pne.ca/files/uploads/2022/11/Release-Launch-Coaster-Annoucement-final.pdf

Here's Senzafiato; https://rcdb.com/4194.htm

Some observations; The length stats are off by about 20m but the height lines up perfectly. Same goes for the unusually short train. There're also calling to the fastest launch coaster in Canada (more than Backlot's 40mph), but curiously not listing an actual speed yet as Zamperla is probably still figuring out the LSM system. Hence the 2024 opening date, to. Plus Playland is broke as **** and can't really afford to drop a ton of cash on manufacturing a new launch coaster without financial aid.

Judging by the top map it looks like this is gonna be taking over both the old Corkscrew plot and the Skycoaster's area.

According to the park they’ve begun preparing the site, which will see the removal of their Drop Zone Skycoaster and Revelation booster in addition to the vacant Corkscrew lot. Curiously enough the original plans did show that the latter would be relocated to the former’s site, but plans could change;

The booster and sky coaster are gone, the site has been leveled, there's a Zamperla trailer on site, track and supports are gathered and... oh lord they weren't bull****ting about about the ridiculous Rage colour scheme, either!

"An easy marketing opportunity for Wonderland when they build a faster launch coaster to take back the Canadian fastest launch record."
Rolls off the tongue.
