Park executive Chris Theis has shared some pictures of the African village expansion along the existing midway. Seems this work is now finished and open.

The park have also themselves uploaded a video of the new stuff.

Construction work continues on the new loop pathway and food outlet presumably that will be finished for summer.

Checked out the new African village and other new things this year. Quite remarkable the transformation the area has undergone in recent years; the new buildings offer nice new corners to explore, an interactive telephone exchange, new seating and tables.
With classic PHL engineering solutions the new buildings are mostly actually on stilts between the midway and coaster envelope.

With final touches like trees and flowers being added, and the new Africa facades on the rear of Berlin finished, the new loop pathway over Mamba's station roof is nearly complete, and it's been added now to the park map, so presumably opening is imminent.
No word yet what the new F&B outlet will sell (although with DIA Drinks painted on one side and the water tower theming element I suspect drinks of some sort).

A GIF showing the overall transformation of Deep In Africa following the last years of plussing work with new theming, F&B outlets, paths, Kroka's Lodge and the Adventure Trail - 2019 vs 2023.

In Berlin the new building with stairs built last year is also nearly finished - the area will finally have a major toilets facility.

I can confirm that the extend walkpath in Deep in Africa still NOT open.
The toilets (show in image above) is still NOT in use, they still painting the interior.

Word is they've run into some delays however still aiming for the path to open before the local summer holidays begin (27th July).

Having seen some glimpses of the theming in progress inside of the new central toilets block in Berlin - surprisingly for PHL there is a somewhat meta reference to the African area being near Berlin with a poster advertising an exhibition of African art in the "Berlin botanical gardens".

I did took a peek through the glass roof and later was the front door open for a better view. Sorry no photo.

The new Berlin central toilets facility has opened today providing 46 toilet cubicles and 20 urinals, and the detailed 1920s theming holds a few surprise Easter eggs.

Easter eggs to International Travel Exhibitions taking place in Berlin's Gardens. Another such poster makes a direction reference to displays about Africa.

Another poster references former simulator attraction Galaxy (1994 - 2005) and its mascot 'Alex from Galax' (an alien of the Siantapha species). The film was replaced by Race for Atlantis until when the whole simulator was removed for the construction of Rookburgh.

Overview of the new Africa with names for all the streets and buildings, and the various 'safari/Black Mamba viewing points'. The route to Berlin from Africa is now through an embassy building.

Over in Berlin they've also added some new theming - a backstory for the kids Ferris wheel and a postcard stand with postcards showing images of historical Berlin, and former rides and features of Phantasialand, and Rookburgh.

Barely a month after completing the Berlin and Africa projects; work walls and a crane have again gone up in Phantasialand. This time at Wuze Town's open air round tower.
The tower used to be home to the Luftpost flat ride which was last year relocated to a new location by the Wuze Wall.
The exit of the Wurmling Express monorail also used to go into the tower's spiral ramp (which also leads to the indoor kids area on the upper floor of Wuze Town) until it was rerouted this year down towards the lake on the other side of the station.

Immediately visible is the Universal Rocks framework along the walls, and markers for the framework still to be added. UR have also been seen with their equipment on site. So the plain concrete walls will receive patterned rock-work finally giving it some depth & theme. However that doesn't explain the need for the large crane so something more is coming...

The park appears to be in the process of adding a proper entrance to Colorado Adventure in the main Mexico area of the park, likely to make it easier for guests to actually locate the queue for the ride.

Signage for Colorado is also being added in the China area, and blue tarp has been erected in Wuze Town's round tower:

The transformation of the open air Wuze Town tower continues. Universal Rocks are theming the walls with rockwork and coloured Wuze style scrollwork.

New levels/platforms are being installed, which also contain gaps within them. (older pic)

Kinderland Parks are onsite - a company which specialises in themed play areas, structures & experiences. PHL partnered with them on the Africa Adventure Trail last year.

The new support beams for the platforms also are supporting a roof over the spiral pathway up the side of the tower.

Given Kinderland Parks' involvement and the platforms, presumably we are looking at some kind of climbing structure/vertical play area ? The gaps in platforms being for climbing up or slides down through.

Whether the, now covered/roofed, spiral pathway up is connected to the new play attraction, or for future developments in the upper floor of Wuze Town* remains to be seen.
*Pure speculation haven't been any changes there but its undoubtedly something that needs improved/replaced in future
