Music in parks

RCF

Strata Poster
I was thinking about this today. What type of music is played n your home park? Does it depend on the section you're in (if there's a specific type of section like movie themed or whatever). Is it just the hit music from yesterday or just the worthless **** of today? I think it'd be interesting to hear what parks play what in different countries and regions etc. etc.

Apocalypse at DMP used to have it's own music, but the ride is sponsored by Kerrang radio now, so at least they play decent music

I'll never forget the music they had playing at SFMM the day we went there. They had one CD on loop all day. It featured:
My Sharona - The Knack
Brighter Than Sunshine - Aqualung
The Birdie Song

Made us giggle all day.

BPB has it's own radio station named Kit Kat radio, so all the songs in the park are from there, which is pop garbage, that makes me wanna put my finger down my throat and puke

If I remember correctly, BGT has its own music, and it's different for each section. Some is African tribal music, some is desert/Egytian stuff, ect.

One thing I do remember is this random ramp with patriotic music playing 'cause it's like a tribute to our soldiers.

I don't really remember music in parks that much though.

I can't even remember if TusenFryd plays music. That probably means they don't. I'd much rather listen to the wind through the trees, the roar of the rides or people having fun anyway. I think it makes the atmosphere better.

Depends on the section for CP. They used to have a really fun music track, ditched it for a crappy one, and are now back to a good one!

I still miss Funky Town though. sad face

Parks like Thorpe or Alton tend to have their own music, unless it's part of the theme to have pop music.

It's quite interesting actually, and musically very well written. I actually wrote about the music at Thorpe for an A-Level essay.

Well my home park is technically Chessie and it has pretty cool tracks.

Vampire has probally one of the coolest theme tunes ever:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRINrOyKlqU

Tomb Blaster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIYGh8YWDnw

Part of Dragon Falls (its 40mins)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjFzSN6fskM

Mine train has the Big Country theme mixed with the Magnificent Seven. I just wish it played in the queue aswell as the station. The entrance theme of this year is nice too.

Thorpe - I'm going into detail to make this post more usefull. And I'm obsessed with park music!

Thorpe has pretty awesome music. It has a R&B/Pop entrance loop which is alright, but I wish they had a proper tracklist.

Then there's Colossus which has a similar tune to Colossos at Heide Park, but with extra trumpets.

^And I thought I was bad for having all of the Alton Towers songs and sounds...

Pleasure Island (UK) has it's own music I think.. Which is pretty good for a small park. Atmospheric music that you don't even realise is there is the best in my opinion, like in Disneyland or Alton Towers. Epcot has really good in park music too..

I don't really rate a lot of theme park music as they tend to be just different enough from either the batman theme (ahem NI) or a loop of synthesised chords of a male chior. :x

There are loads of great ones though:

Tomb Blaster, great!
Nemesis, Unique!
There are quite a few good ones in my mind, i suppose it's when you get a park saying "i want it to sound like this" and the composer then editing two notes in "dance of the sugarplum fairy" when it gets bad :--D

Oh and ill have some salt an vinegar for that chip on my shoulder please (storms off to play the piano)

I realy love the nemesis inferno music, the dispatch music from the previous train never fails to send me running out of the exit before I even have a chance to sit down.....which isn't good!

Although Nemesis (AT) has such epic music, its a real shame they stopped playing the story version, its such a well thought out story and the simple fact Tom Baker narrates it makes it easliy missable!

CF Legend
BGE has music comparable to s US sitcom or chat show. And it's the cheesiest most horrendous theme music I've ever heard at a park.

"Welcome to Busch Gardens Europe, the most Americanised park in the world!"

Music at parks should be predominantly background, mood setting noise. If it's too identifiable it gets annoying.

I think Nemesis Inferno is indeed a hit. In the queue it's not too loud and you can barely hear it, but when you enter the station it fills that room with mood. The sound of the dispatching train is pretty magical.
