Most Unique Coaster Layouts

Jason Voorhees

Hyper Poster
What are some of your favorite/unique coaster layouts? Do you like constant airtime like Skyrush or constant inversions like The Smiler? Or maybe you like a nice, gentle ride like Iron Dragon? Or maybe you like the sensation of freefall like Stunt Fall or Oblivion? Since we all have different taste, I want to know your favorite/unique layouts. This should be an interesting topic.

Some of my own favorites are Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia and Afterburn at Carowinds (No I am not asking your 2 favorite coasters but they are my favorite layouts anyway). I think that Insane at Grona Lund looks like it has a crazy layout. So, from looks, Insane would be my favorite layout.

(I tried to do something innovative for my 500th post)

Raging Bull has a pretty weird and unique layout for a hyper, but I don't think that that makes it a better ride. Its definably a unique layout, but I like the standard hyper out and back layout the best.

Pretty poor coaster...100% unique layout. Dragon Mountain at Marineland Theme Park. Awkward Arrow goodness.

Outlaw Run is unique in the "WTF is that?!" aspect of it. There's no other <180* turn that still takes you sort of upside-down, there's no other wave turn. It also uses the terrain to its advantage better than most coasters.

I think Beast's layout is so different and unique personally. I might get **** for this, but it is what I think.

The Ultimate.
Goes on for absolute ever, and you end up miles away from the park before weaving your way through the trees low to the ground all the way back.

You knew this was coming, it has to be Nemesis. I wouldn't say it's the most unique layout in the world, but when it comes to anything from B&M, it certainly tops that list. From the non-existant drop to the Vertical loop (I mean, the loop is the 3rd inversion, how many looping coasters have their 'highlight element' 2/3rds through the ride?), it truly is a Rollercoaster design breakthrough.

Other than that, I really enjoy Grand Nationals layout of endless airtime hills, it certainly isn't the most creative layout, but it's still air-time heaven.

Voyages layout is designed ingeniously to be travelling uphill before racing back downhill. While it is a standard out and back coaster, it is also one of the few to really keep up the speed and intensity all the way til the end.

Boulder Dash, the ride is built uniquely for that spot, and you could not put that same ride, with the same layout anywhere else, it would not be even close to the same.

I second that

The one layout that is different than the other one.

Rolo Coaster is kind of weird and slightly less delicious than the candy. Though it did serve as the primary inspiration for Boulder Dash, so, yeah.

^ Rollo Coaster, with two l's

That was superb. The titles with "Rolo Coaster", followed immediately by the name saign with "Rollo Coaster" on it. It's exactly the kind of thing I'd do, I'm glad I'm not the only muppet in the world
