ITV-HD on SkyHD

Well off-topic, but this is interesting to anyone with a SkyHD box.

Sky are updating the EPG software at the moment (depending on your box type depends when you get the update) BUT when your SkyHD box gets the updated software;

You can MANUALLY add ITV-HD as a extra channel using the following details;

11.427
H
2/3
27500

and this makes ITV-HD appear on channel 10510

(Clearly only useful for the football 'cos it does not broadcast all the time!)

I can watch The Bill in HD, when I get it in my room. YAY :--D

The only problems I have with Sky are:

1 Everytime theres bad weather such as rain, the picture goes funny. :x

2 They cost a bloody fortune :evil:

And I'm only going to get cable in my room cool)

HDTV is sooo not worth it.

AND its made the simpsons and southpark look crap now they've both gone hi def.

I'ld rather Sky sort out the TERRIBLE new main menu screen before trying to add any new channels in HD... :x

But ITV only shows bad TV (apart from TV Burp).

I also don't have Sky because it is not needed, too many DVDs to catch up on let alone TV shows.

Haha I've seen the demo of that on their website, it does look ****ing awful, but thankfully I don't have it yet!!

BUMPITY BUMP....

My box got the new EPG last night (so the roll-out has started).... doddle to add ITV-HD as an "other channels".... shame they didn't do it a day earlier then could've watched the England match in HD rather than the poor excuse of an SD channel that ITV put out on satellite.

There is obviously no great CONTENT on ITV-HD though; some footy coming up over the next few weeks though;

That is all.

What about You've Been Framed?

I favourited this topic as HD was ordered months ago - and was installed today!

However, still got the gash old EPG. Bint at Sky said they were rolling out the new EPG "in the coming months" and couldn't give a estimated date.

Annoying really, as now I find non-HD channels look gash.

^ Can't push a dish on your flat I assume...? Surprised that they don't have a communal dish. A few of my mates live in newish build flats, sorry, "apartments" and they have a communal dish.

We are in a reserve area so we are not allowed, yet the Casino can so a bit strange really.

In my old place we had a dish like you said, its a real bummer really as Virgin is just so expensive and crap.

I'm still waiting for the new EPG, it's a pisstake waiting for it.

Although hopefully it will kick in before the next England games are on!

You need to peruse the forums over at AVForums;

http://www.avforums.com/forums/sky-hd/

(its like Coasterforce but for AV-geeks rather than theme-park geeks)

in order to get more reliable information than Sky call centre employees provide!

Depending on the make/model of your "box" it depends when the software gets updated (happens over the air overnight usually).

Dave.
(Theme-park AND AV-geek ;-) )

*5 month bump*

The "new" tv guide appeared this morning.

I knew it was worth favouriting this topic!
