Just posting this as not sure if people have noticed (or care, haha) that Flamingo Land appear to have gone in a total new direction over the past year or so and are having regular 'Party in the Parks' with celebrity acts, and also bringing people in to open new attractions such as the Pirates of Zanzibar.

Join Katie Price as she launches The Black Heart, the amazing galleon at the centre of our sensational new attraction.

Avast, ye landlubbers! The Black Heart is on the high seas again, with a course plotted directly for Flamingo Land. We'll be arriving soon, so you better make ready for when we sail into port, as mischief and mayhem will prevail!

Captain Plunder

Anyone who's recently visited Flamingo Land will have seen that preparations are underway for the imminent arrival of Captain Plunder and his tall ship, The Black Heart. Now, with the Pirates of Zanzibar sighted just off the coast, it won't be long before you can enjoy this swashbuckling live show featuring breathtaking fight scenes and acts of the darkest skulduggery!

Pirates of Zanzibar tells the story of a crew descended from the infamous Spice Pirates of 1779, when spices were the most valuable items in the world. After reaching the East African Coast, the Spice Pirates invaded the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar, which became the 'black heart' of their evil empire.

From 2nd July you can join Captain Plunder at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm every day to hear his tales of the high seas, while his crew bring these spice stealing stories vividly to life.
And, for those brave enough to meet our spice pirates, they'll be out and about scouting for plunder around Metropolis from 10:00am each day.

The word celebrity is in inverted commas because it is usually someone trash, rejected reality contestant or people who are just famous for being famous.

There is a new pirate attraction opening this weekend, and my brother is playing the role of the captain  - it's being officially opened by super celeb herself, Katie Price.

They've also recently had 4th Impact (the four girls from X Factor), Kevin Simm (who apparently won the voice this year), Ben Haenow and later in July have Scouting for Girls headlining their PITP.

What do you make of Flamingo Lands choice to go this way? I'm personally impressed, despite the names being a little trashy, they're still name pullers and the fact the PITP's are included in your entrance fee (no increased entrance on that day either) or you can go for £10 on the evening is brilliant.

I've had this popping up on Facebook but didn't bother to post it here.

It's a good idea really. The party in the park things seem to be getting good crowds to be fair.

Without sounding like a snob, X Factor contestants actually suit the park's demographic.

One of my friends has been working on this creating the illusions for it - the set itself looks quite brilliant to be fair. Taken from his Facebook:

Looks pretty good. I imagine this is a good crowd puller especially for local families with kids.
