"Drifting" coaster

Remember back in RCT3 where they showed a "Drifitng" coaster that looked like the Maurer Sohne Xtended coasters? Was that idea a load of bollocks by RCT, or was it an actual proposed idea/currently in construction or operation ride?

Yeah there is actually a drifting X-Car model. I'm not sure if there are any in existence yet, but I know it's out there.

There was one bought by one of the parks in Dubai, but when the plans fell through, it was never built.
