Castles n' Coasters PTR 3/13/10

CreditCrazy

Hyper Poster
On Saturday, I took a day trip to Phoenix to see a spring training baseball game and go to Castles n' Coasters. It was a long day (5 hour drive each way) but I'm glad I can finally cross those credits off my list.

Castles n' Coasters wasn't the best park, but of course, I wasn't expecting much. The place was very small and crammed in with rides, not to mention it was pretty crowded which didn't help. It didn't matter to me, because the park was just a quick credit run, but I feel bad that this is all Phoenix has...

First up was Desert Storm.

I guess it was a little better than what I expected, but still not really enjoyable. The loops were more forceful than a Schwarzkopf...but they came with a ton of rattle, throwing you around the train.

Not the best first Hopkins impression.

The trains were pretty cool.

On my way over to the other credit, I tried out this drop tower.

It's as close to an Intamin as it gets. This thing drops to the very bottom, and the best part is, you have no idea when you'll drop because the top of the tower is covered up by the car.

Can't wait to ride Scandia's new one sometime.

Patriot was basically Hopkins' version of a Vekoma Roller Skater.

Not much else to say...

GRASS IN ARIZONA!...not.
P1010037-2.jpg

Fess up nerds, you two filmed a a front seat POV.
P1010040-1.jpg

The log ride looked decent, but I passed.

P1010042-1.jpg

Just didn't really feel like getting wet in Phoenix weather...
P1010043.jpg

Okay, I really just wanted to get out of there.

P1010051.jpg

A few more Desert Storm pics on the way out.
P1010054-1.jpg

It's weird, the ride goes around most of the park but it's still hard to get pictures of.
P1010052-1.jpg

I basically just had this same loop and helix to work with.

P1010061-1.jpg

Oh yeah, there was a huge arcade.
P1010062-1.jpg

Very pinball friendly.

And that was pretty much it with this park.

Nice little PTR there. Doesn't look like there is a lot at that park but I suppose it's good for locals? Did you enjoy your little credit run?

^Lol, that is soooo retarded XD

Nice little PTR, I like all these little hardly known parks being documented, means I get to see stuff I wouldn't usually. And the thought of Phoenix made me feel warm, which is a good thing when you live where I do =D
