Well I finally got over to Kings Island after 6 long years and 2 coasters. One of which blew me away and the other was meh, so let's get started.
The day began with a 3 hour drive over to Mason from Terre Haute, Indiana (my hometown) for my buddies' 16th birthday. We got to the park right after opening and hit Drop Tower first. I loved this ride and is the only one that genuinely scares me due to the height. After that we headed over to Banshee to bear thru the WHOLE 10 minute wait. The ride stayed like this all day as the park was completely dead.
Banshee
Alright this ride is insane. Easily the best invert I've been on and easy top 10. I got a back row ride on the purple train and it was the most intense thing ever. The first drop had insane whip and the the dive loop had perfect pace. The loop over the lift hill had great hang time and crazy forces making me almost grey out but in a good way. The zero g roll had some nice whip in the back while the pretzel loop/batwing was incredibly fast. Second loop as good as the first and the inline twist was so WTF I couldn't really describe it. The elements just flowed perfectly making it an easy #4 behind Millennium Force.
After banshee we did the Bat which was alright, then XBase then lunch. FireHawk and Flight of Fear were decent fun but Firehawk was extremely uncomfortable leaving me with a bad headache. Then we did the Racer which was surprisingly smooth for its age. After that we had an awful ride on Vortex because I Greyed out on the first loop and getting jerked around like crazy. Then for the Beast which is the 3rd best coaster in the park and was hauling around the track. That second drop is crazy going through the tunnel and gives a great sense of speed plus it wasn't at all rough. Once done with Beast we headed to my second new cred which was Diamondback.
DiamondBack
The ride was great but I was a little let down by B&M here, the ride is still my #10 but I expected it to be more than it was. The floater was on fantastic but the speed feels like it is lacking really.
Lastly we re rode Banshee which was fantastic again and did Invertigo which was absolutely awful with those restraints,
Overall the day was great and I'd love to get more Banshee in my life :--D
