Apparently, we managed to miss in the chaos surrounding the insane fire at the Oceana construction site that there was also an accident at Port Aventura.
Following a strong gust of wind, a tree toppled on top of their junior wooden coaster "Tomahawk", injuring a total of 14 people, 2 of those were seriously injured.

Original statement from the park on X (former Twitter):
This Sunday morning, due to an episode of strong winds, a random incident occurred due to the fall of a tree near the Tomahawk attraction. Some of the branches have impacted customers who were on the attraction. After our emergency protocols were activated, the people who were affected were immediately treated by our first aid teams together with the EMS and later some were taken to the hospital to receive medical attention. At PortAventura World we are following the evolution of their condition, with full willingness to offer the necessary assistance at this time and full support to families.
It is an event completely unrelated to the operation and maintenance of our attractions, which comply with the highest safety standards and are subjected to rigorous daily reviews.
We are offering our maximum collaboration to the authorities and we appreciate the quick action of our team and the emergency services for their efficiency and professionalism.
