Coasters that you didn't expect to fall in love with

I seemed to like many new credits this year that I didn't expect too. The really crazy part of it was that most of the surprises were wooden. New Texas Giant was the steel leader of the year. Since I had never been on a RMC before I didn't know what was going to happen. This one has a ton of...

Most New Creds in a Year

    I would have to say that the last three years have been good for new coaster and park credits. 2012: June - 10 coasters, 1 park; August - 28 coasters, 4 parks = 38 coasters, 5 parks 2013: June - 4 coasters; August - 30 coasters, 3 parks = 34 coasters, 3 parks 2014: June - 8 coasters, 3...

    Does size matter?

Height does matter to me, but the tallest is not always the best. There are three B&M hypers I like best of all, but there are rides out there that are bigger. Kingda Ka is a little taller than Top Thrill Dragster, but I prefer the lap bar restraint over the OTSR. When it comes to the gigas...

Is there an unspoken rule for ride t-shirts?

This is my view on this and not really a "rule" spoken or not. The general public wears shirts from a competing park all the time (ie. wearing a Universal Studios Florida shirt at WDW). I consider this in bad taste. I actually plan on wearing my SFMM shirt at another Six Flags park or my BGW...

    Big Trip To New England

^ Both parks are clean, pretty, the staff is friendy and helpful. They had much better staff, and much better ride operations than SFNE or La Ronde. Even though we tend to be centered around coasters, I love it when parks have a nice mix of flat rides too. That is why Canobie, Great Escape, and...

    Big Trip To New England

Thunderbolt was ok as long as you didn't move from side to side or up or down. I like the 100 degree lift hill and drop, but this ride was pretty painful most of the rest of the way. Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, Dare Devil Dive, and Fahrenheit start off a similar way but finish much better.

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Re: Top 10(ish): 2014 Edition After my big trip to the northeastern US, this is the best added to my overall list. (Keep in mind there were 40 coasters; I'm not going to waist our time listing the stupid stuff like the boomerangs, wild mice, and kiddie coasters that they let me on but I kind of...

    Big Trip To New England

As you can tell by my name, I am generally all about steel coasters, but this trip was really centered around woodens. Prior to this, the only ones built by Custom Coasters International that I thought were more than just ok were Holiday World's Legend and SFSTL's Boss. Well Boulder Dash is a...

Are Vekoma SLCs really that bad?

Ranking of steel coasters that could be better if not for the pain: Arrow Custom Looping Vekoma SLC Vekoma Boomerang Stand-Up There are some really harmful ones in all of those groups and then there are some that are not so bad. On rcdb, Gauntlet had a redesigned wheel assembly. This gave it...

The "Junior Coasters" by Vekoma aren't bad. I have ridden Ant Farm Express, Barnstormer, Dragon (Legoland Florida), Flight of the Hippogriff, Gadget's Go Coaster (Disneyland), Road Runner Express (SFMM), Roller Skater (Kentucky Kingdom), Spacely's Sprocket Rockets, Woodstock's Express (Cedar...

Good Parks that are Bad to Visit?

I would have to say SF Great Adventure. While it is a great park, it seems somewhat separated from the other parks that would naturally fit in with that trip for me (Hershey, Dorney, and Knoebels). The hotels that are near Philadelphia or in NJ cost much more, that leaves me driving all the way...
