    Alton Towers Monorail

Sorry for the boring question but i'm taking my disabled son to the Water Park for a 2pm swimming session on Friday. I was thinking we could pop in to the park for a few hours beforehand. Would the monorail be the quickest way to then get to the Water Park (and back) or would we be better off...

Looks like the RetroSquad are leaving, any thoughts on what will replace?

Passengers left upside down as ride malfunctions in Canada

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-66910324 Passengers were left hanging upside down for almost 30 minutes, after an amusement park ride broke down in Vaughan, in Ontario, Canada. Footage from TikTok shows the malfunctioning ride inverted with riders still on board, as people look...

Legoland Viking River Splash to close 25th September...

Forever! Every single time i've visited it's been shut anyway so i've never actually been on it but it didn't look great tbh. Wonder what they will replace it with? What's been the cause of it never working? Could they turn it into say a Gruffalo style indoor Dark Ride using the existing "track"?

Alton Towers has a rollercoaster problem... so does Chessington?

Thought this video was interesting. Was reminded of it yesterday at Chessington when Vampire went down. Guessing that will get a re-track as the layout makes it irreplaceable much like Nemesis? The wonderful curse of John Wardley.

Which Theme Park is largest (in Acres)?

Went to Alton Towers yesterday for the first time in about 15 years and forgot how massive it is (didn't help the SkyRide was closed) though it's so beautiful we didn't mind. But it got me thinking, which theme park is the biggest in the world? I had a search but feel like some of those which...

    Queue Time Displays

Which parks have the most accurate queue time displays? I just saw a Vlog from Hansa Park in Germany where it says they have queue times accurate to the minute (eg. 17 minute wait)! Merlin ones seem pretty ropey and usually quite behind what is actually happening.

    Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi

Is there a thread or any reviews of this park? Have tried searching but can only seem to find discussion on Seaworld and Ferrari World. Stumbled across a few Vlog reviews and this park looks incredible, surprised more people aren't talking about it! Seems to have a lot of amazing high...

    Closed Rides

I've noticed that across the Merlin parks in the UK, they almost always have at least 3 of the top rides closed. Whereas in the 2 years i've been visiting Paulton's, i don't recall a single ride being closed excluding pre-announced maintenance periods which are off season. Is there a reason...

Flight of the Sky Lion Capacity

Went to Legoland today and managed to ride Sky Lion 4 times! Not a gripe as such but I was curious about why the turnover times for the ride are so long when the actual ride time is under 5 minutes. It seemed typically riders were let into the video waiting rooms every 10-12 minutes but once in...

    Vintage Theme Park Maps

Sorry not sure where to post this but tidying up and found a collection of theme park maps from around 1989-99, not sure if they have any value or if people would just be interested in seeing them! Can take some photos if the latter. Mostly Alton Towers, American Adventure and Disneyland.

    Underwater coaster Alton Towers

When i was young i have a vague memory of Alton Towers being on a Saturday morning kids show, they were discussing a new ride and they had a model of a new rollercoaster that would sit in the lake in front of the Towers and would go underwater. Did i imagine this or was it ever something...

    Gruffalo style rides?

Can anyone recommend other similar rides to The Gruffalo at Chessington in Europe? Not necessarily water based (though that is good) but mostly in terms of being an indoor sensory style ride with heavy theming. I imagine Disneyland Paris might tick a few boxes (haven't been there for 25 years).
