I had waited to ride Raptor before listing, but it didn't happen, so here goes...
1. OzIris @ Parc Asterix - a wonderful mix of elements and great theming. The dive loop and Immelmann...
2. Montu @ Busch Gardens Tampa - the batwing, some good forces throughout. Great fun to re-ride.
3. Nemesis...
Bad enough that last year I got turned away from the channel tunnel because of an incident which destroyed the weekend trip out to Parc Asterix to ride Toutatis.
Still, was well worth it this year - Toutatis leaping into my all time favourite list @ no.3.
This must go some way to mitigating...
For what it's worth....
why can you not do both? Take a few days at Cedar Point at the start/middle/end of the summer and then work the rest of the season at KD. If you need some money from work, then plan CP at the end of the summer. And as a plus, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is only just over...
Those I've ridden... first 5 listed in order, top three with my top 10 ranking
Toutatis @ Parc Asterix (3)
Volcano - Blast Coaster @ Kings Dominion (4)
Cheetah Hunt @ Busch Gardens Tampa (10)
Furius Baco @ Port Aventura - a divisive coaster which I enjoyed
Juvelen @ Djurs Sommerland...
Well, this is certainly catching peoples' interest...
Good on Paultons because whichever way this turns out, it appears that there is a level of appreciation even before manufacturer, ride number/type are announced.
The idea of an interacting set of attractions would be fantastic, and as for a...
I can't get anywhere near some of these numbers, but the most in one day were Megafobia @ Oakwood, Thunderhead @ Dollywood and Big Thunder Mountain @ DLP
All three times were helped by low attendance and great ride staff.
When you can get the timing right for a park visit with 'ok' weather and...
Intamin coasters ridden from my top 20 list
Toutatis @ Parc Asterix (3)
Volcano Blast Coaster @ KIngs Dominion (4)
Piraten @ Djurs Sommerland (8)
Cheetah Hunt @ Busch Gardens Tampa (10)
Millennium Force @ Cedar Point
Thunder Dolphin @ Tokyo Dome City
Intimidator 305 @ Kings Dominion...
Thanks for the note. User error I am afraid, which is now corrected.
One day was all I could achieve as part of my recent USA road trip. I could have chosen Six Flags, Hershey Park, Kennywood and some smaller ones instead on/near the route. After missing out riding Lightning Rod a few years...
After two trips this year, Parc Asterix (again) and Cedar Point (first time) - my favourite coasters are now in a basic list based on enjoyment - basically those I loved straight away and would happily ride right now.
1. Space Mountain (v1) @ Disneyland Paris , Vekoma...
Cedar Point - for the very first time.
A bucket list visit to the 'roller coaster capital of the world' was open to me. I was SO excited. Did lots of research and thought I was going to have an amazing and memorable day. Memorable it was. If you want photos then here is the point where I...
(car parking charges) - but
gift shops at the end of every coaster, full of tat?!? Fine, a souvenir t-shirt of your favourite ride at a 'general' store in the park, but a 'room' full of pencils, erasers, soft toys, sweets, plastic swords and other............
the obligatory ride photo booth you...
Taking this as a guide, what does this amount of space actually mean for a coaster/ride? Is there a database of which rides take up what amount of space? Which current best rides would/could fit here? This would be for comparison purposes, obviously, as I'm sure everyone will have their 'wish...
Easy one to list;
Rita @ Alton Towers - a good launch and some positives
Stealth @ Thorpe Park - a great launch but then..
Thirteen @ Alton Towers - a solid family coaster
Colossus @ Thorpe Park - just too many repetitive rolls to end, rough...
Paulton's Park is the nearest, been once. (40 minute drive on smaller roads I reckon) Looks like there might be some very interesting developments here over the next few years, so it will soon be time for another visit.
Next would be Legoland and Thorpe Park. Used to go to Legoland about once a...
I agree it can be difficult to sometimes re-ride coasters - for quite a few different reasons. I think the main one must be crowd levels at parks, particularly if you can only be there at weekends. I have one coaster in my top 10 that I have only ridden once, due to crowd levels which were heavy...
Of the 'official' list I reckon ZZ Top's Gimme All Your Lovin' would be a great choice. But the secret/hidden list songs are better. Muse's Stockholm Syndrome would be good, but I chose Start Me Up from The Rolling Stones way back when, which surprised the person next to me. (This worked well...
