The layout disappoints me. Not cuz it's short. But because much like I305 and Fury it wastes a lot of speed turning on its side and doing helixes. That's not what you should do with all that speed. Why do these gigas have so few airtime hills? I'm not saying it should have a back half like Steel...
Maybe this is all the years of making similar-lookin things in RCT2 talking, but I think it looks good. I like the industrial look of the supports... the looks of the train is a different matter
That hill is excellent and probably better, compared to the drop, when riding in every seat that *isn’t* the very back. In my opinion anyway. But the very back seat? That first drop wins. However, that hill (plus the drop and other great air) means El Toro has the best airtime of any ride
Look: the best single airtime moment is El Toro’s drop in the back seat. It just is. I dunno why but that drop astonishes me every time, better than all others
Not sure I’ve found any that are too intense based off layout. However, I’ve found plenty that are **** based on bad train and track design. Goliath at SFNE falls in this category. Whacks you to smithereens. I guess if that falls under “intense,” then it’s that one
Opinion: breaking the overall Length Record for a roller coaster would, to me, be more appealing than speed or height. Gimme my 2+ mile long otcuple-launch blitz!
Curtain is like quadruple the size of Maxx (in steel used). It’s a LOT more to construct. Also, from what I understand, the tight nature of Kennywood’s hilltop location and specifically SC’s site are delaying things a bit. Cranes can’t move around the area all that easily
These need big improvements to truly work.
1. Better restraints (those whoppers look awful)
2. Smoother (shoutout to the guy clearly lying, in the video)
3. Quieter
4. Faster
5. Longer ride time
6. Better propulsion systems (drive tires? What is this a fairground ride?)
It’s a good concept...
What’s different with the restraints now? I rode it when it was Bizarro and they seemed fine.
Also, Nitro is still excellent IF you catch it on a good day. Good ops, no trims.
Anyway, my disappointment: Wild Eagle. Just absolute dullsville after I’d hyped it up to myself. At least Gatekeeper...
