I would like to see B&M start to take a Banshee approach to their new coasters. Banshee has no MCBR but instead has that fly through-block after the helix. It allows for 3 train capacity, makes interval actually possible to hit (allowing for theoretical dispatch to actually be a thing) and takes...
It removes all of the faff while also ensuring that trains are filled with people. Empty seats and longer wait times are guaranteed if there is no one crowd controlling.
I believe it’s going to be a Zamperla Giant Discovery for next year similar to Crazanity. That old waterworks building looks like the perfect plot of land for one of those. Then in 2020 they go for a Raptor or T-Rex that sprawls over the entrance of the park in some manner.
I could see the park going away from GoPods after their current contract expires. Yes, lockers are a revenue source but Cedar Point (and Cedar Fair) have been focusing on improving the guest experience as much as possible. Free lockers would improve guest experience thus, in my opinion, making...
I rode last night when I was off and the policy is strictly enforced. They had ops walking through the queues telling anyone with a phone out to put it in a locker. Really I found it quite nice to disconnect for awhile while in line but it’s also unfortunate they had to get to this point.
Edit...
People were getting nailed by phones on Steve as well. The park just had to draw a final line on it as too many incidents were occurring. I’ve seen the aftermath of someone getting hit and it is not pretty.
Additionally, Cedar Point did get $10 transferable lockers this season!
Double post but Steel Vengeance is has gone the El Toro route and all cell phones and loose articles are forbidden from being taken into the line. This came into effect today on July 21st.
I’d say Holiday World is doing pretty well. I haven’t been in awhile but I still try to keep up with it as much as possible. Rumor is that the park’s next coaster is set for 2020.
Maybe dragster’s is just smoother in the “triple pull” transitions. I have never felt like I was being yanked 3 separate times while riding Dragster but I definitely felt it on Ka.
Kingda Ka’s launch feels like it gains speed in spurts as opposed to Dragsters (and Stormrunner’s) smooth acceleration. While I only rode once in the front row, this sensation was easily identifiable.
In terms of theming, KK’s theme is cool but the entire experience is runied due to the duel...
Word on the street is that it’s an S&S. I don’t really have a source except for one of my ride op friends at CP who is very in-the-know in these sorts of things so I believe him.
There are grumblings but nothing concrete. Also my NDA prevents me from really talking about Steel at all but even then we as ride ops don’t know anything. I wish I could provide more. :(

El Toro was absolutely bonkers and it is a very close 2nd to Steel. The drop, the airtime hills, and the sexy rolling thunder hill were so much more than I expected...
