Blackpool Pleasure Beach | Icon | Mack Multi-Launch

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017 Ha I am not a fan of the Big One, it's forceless and dies pretty much straight after the drop. Unfortunately it will be a while till we see it go, it's a staple of the park. To be honest I have no idea where this thing will go if it's a large scale...

    Scarefest/Fightnights/Howl"o"ween/ UK Scare Season

Lofty, you wouldn't happen to know how to get to Scare Kingdom from Leicester for relatively cheap? It's number 1 on my list to go to, but I can't figure out how to get there on the cheap. Love the look of your line up this year though! Also SWAT definitely look at Twisted Attractions in...

    Accident at Alton Towers

Is it really rare that the trains touch gently in the station though? I mean especially with a continuously moving station. Obviously I wasn't there so can't comment on how violent the touching was, but it doesn't sound too bad. Shame the media are creating a **** storm at the moment...

    Accident at Alton Towers

This is the quote from the poster seen in park: “As part of the ongoing investigation into The Smiler incident, the Health and Safety Executive may be running ride cars around the ride today." I should probably credit Towers Street who have the poster on their facebook page.

    Accident at Alton Towers

Interesting that they're testing the ride during opening hours, you'd have thought they'd have deliberately tested it later after the park had closed. That being said they're doing a good job at keeping people informed and I commend them for that. They've put up posters around park explaining...

Thorpe Park Mania are reporting that Speed at Oakwood is closed at the moment too. Any news on Rage?

    Accident at Alton Towers

I don't know if anyone's been watching Thorpe's twitter feed concerning the Saw closure, and theres some interesting goings on. Obviously the ride has been closed since Wednesday, and is planned to remain closed for the next couple of days, as proved by this tweet. Interestingly enough, it...

    Accident at Alton Towers

Whilst we're talking about staff, I know everyone keeps mentioning most staff don't stay on for more than a season, but every time I have been, the Smiler staff has mostly been unchanged. And the staff actually operating the control booth have been the same few every time i've been.

    Accident at Alton Towers

According to family there's been reports of leg loss on BBC Radio 4, considering they don't read the mail, I am assuming it's becoming widely accepted by most news sources as fact.

    Accident at Alton Towers

Whilst I highly doubt it stopped upside-down, I wouldn't be surprised if it were crawling through the element painfully slow, considering the other train stalled. I guess the "it stopped upside-down" is merely down to the amount of people who think coaster trains have breaks on them.

    Accident at Alton Towers

Yeah unfortunately on the 10pm BBC news their reporter announced it's understood some of the riders have sustained "life changing" injuries. It's still on iPlayer, but it really is horrible to watch. It's horrific to hear what's happened to the people involved. I really can't bear to imagine how...

    Accident at Alton Towers

According to the thread on Theme Park Review the BBC has reported that some of the injuries are described as "life changing" really not looking good here. Such a dreadful piece of news to come out of this terrible incident.

    Accident at Alton Towers

Interesting point, but they've got to leave an amount of time to let all the backlash drop off. Also out of respect for the families involved they'd probably leave it a while till it reopened. Also it's dubious as to weather it is human error or not. It sounds pretty complicated so I can...

    Accident at Alton Towers

I personally don't think The Smiler will be leaving any time soon, sure their PR and Marketing department is going to have one hell of a time encouraging people back to ride it. But personally I am more concerned as to what's going on with the injured. I can't even begin to imagine how...

    Accident at Alton Towers

From the pictures I have seen I think it's the part it stalls on in the first part. No disrespect for the staff, but if they're sending round a test train surely they should be monitoring it like a hawk.

    Accident at Alton Towers

Why are they still sending around trains empty though? I thought they had serious problems with that when the ride was testing.
