Trying to keep up – Denmark – August 2023

So sorry to hear about your return trip troubles. Shame to ruin an otherwise great trip.

A trip for the milestone – Germany – August 2023

Good stuff as usual @Hixee - now you need to update your coaster count (which is still listed as 766) ;) I think El Toro is one of the most over-looked small footprint woodies, so it's nice to hear that it's running as good as it ever has.

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Kennywood has announced that the last rides of the season on Racer will be tomorrow, Saturday, September 15th, before the wooden dueling coaster undergoes retracking as part of a multi-year project this fall for the amusement park's preservation program. The park says a team of carpenters...

    SHOULD RCDB have some changes?

Having worked with Duane for well over a decade I tell you he doesn't get paid for any of this - he's got a job outside the industry. He enjoys his standing in the community and the perks that come with it from his hard work, which seems to be enough for him. There's no one more concerned in...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Looks like your wish will partially come true. Elitch isn't shutting down, but is moving to a new location in Colorado (possibly Aurora) to make space for a new downtown Denver development project. Source

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Not sure how many saw this on Tik Tok, but the Music Express ride at Playland Park in Rye, New York malfunctioned, continuously moving backward for up to 10 minutes until it was manually shut off. Here's a news story with the video, since I don't tiky toky.

What are your thoughts on pre-shows on rides?

Fenix, Juvelen, Flucht von Novgorod, blue fire Megacoaster, Baron 1898, Schlange von Midgard, Furius Baco, Firechaser Express, etc. all good. I'll even add, although lame, Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster. There's also some rides with pre-show rooms that I don't mind like the Haunted Mansion's...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Riders were stranded upside down for several hours on a traveling Fireball at the Forest County Festival in Crandon, Wisconsin. They're calling it a roller coaster, of course. Source

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Couldn't find this anywhere on the forums. Maybe it's been overlooked due to Jetline's derailing? A guest and staffer received minor head injuries and were transported to a hospital following an incident involving the Looping Star roller coaster at Clacton Pier. The ride was shut down while a...

How many times have you been upside down on a coaster?

Forgot about the Fun Statistics link on www.coastercounter.com. Didn't have to do a thing other than copy and past this: Total Inversions (or times you've been upside down): 7934 (7871 Steel, 63 Wood)

Nope. Too many coasters ridden to try and figure that one out. See post below

Here's a couple more... The on-ride was filmed immediately after my zen ride filming the POV in the post above (benefit of having to return to the park the day after the media event), whereas the off-ride footage was filmed on Opening Day.

Would you skip creds to reach a milestone on a decent coaster?

I would, but haven't had the opportunity. Mine Blower was my 1000th purely by accident, since I had forgotten to count whatever coaster it was that I rode before it. I also wanted Raptor at Gardaland to be my 500th, but made the mistake of mentioning it prior to arriving at the park for the CF...

do we NEED to count credits?

This is how I've always felt, but I still count the credz I ride. Who cares if I missed 2-3 kiddie, SLC or other painful/uninspiring coasters that I've ridden plenty of times before at other parks. Although it's not a competition for me, I like to keep track of how many I've actually ridden...

The Opening Day media event didn't include any on-ride filming, so I had to stick around until the following morning to film this first run of the day.
