Why is Scream at SFMM so hated?

From what I've heard, one train is supposedly worse than the other. But it's had to say how much of that is fact, and how much is just made up. Like I said, I actually don't find it all that rough with the exception of the first loop.

Why is Scream at SFMM so hated?

I don't know if it's really hated... in many other parks, Scream would probably be a near top level ride. But SFMM has such a huge, diverse, and really intense line up of coasters, much more so than a typical park, that it sort of gets lost in the shuffle. Being located pretty far out of the...

Knott's Teasing Possible Pony Express Removal?

Yeah, I think that's not how that story was meant to be interpreted. Ever since the park closed, they've had the character of Sad Eye Joe leaving his jail and visiting a lot of different attractions in the park. I think they're just honestly saluting the history of the actual Pony Express mail...

SFMM | Wonder Woman Flight of Courage | RMC Raptor | 2022

One of the biggest perks for an S&S Free Spin is that it has a relatively small and narrow footprint. They can go nearly anywhere, and don't need all that much room. Raptors are more of a traditional coaster (in terms of land space), and not everyone has that much room.

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

Just an update on this... more theming has been added since many of the above comments (though the video screen in the pit stop area is still the same, but there are a lot more decorations in the pit stop and all along the queue), and the gift shop at the exit is now open. There are also now...

Even I don't count WCR or TC as two credits. It's one coaster with a large pause halfway. Although what about Racer at Kennywood? It's also a mobious coaster, but you do exit the ride before doing the other half. I personally count it as separate credits, but it is a bit debatable I suppose.

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

^I concur with all the above. If you're looking for a really intense, air-time driven thrill, then move along. I believe this was built more for the preteen-family audience, and in that aspect, it really succeeds. SFMM really needed an intermediate ride in their line up, because it's either...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

I was in the park last night, and they were consistently testing 3 train operation. The walls are down around the area, with just waist high fences up. Because of that, I was able to see they have a display car on the indoor portion of the queue.

^Yes, that. So theoretically, they should be racing every single time. The biggest reason TC doesn't duel is guests take too long to get situated, causing them to miss what is a very tight window of time to race. For WCR, the other train will literally just sit and wait until the other train...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

What did I tell you? See post #583. Just in time for the winter break for schools in SoCal.

I think that's yellow. The lighting and camera are making it look green.

On a side note, I do have a question about Coaster-Count. It lists many different counts. I have "Strict" count at 478, and a "With Duplicates" count at 509. But then it lists an "All" count at 497 (which, incidentally, is the number I use for my personal coaster count). Trouble is, I...

Powered coasters are tricky. I do count them, but only if they are intended to be thrilling, and of significant length (even if thrilling only as a family coaster). So I do count Thunder Run at Canada's Wonderland, as well as Bob Express as Bobbejaanland. I don't count Bayern Kurve (not long...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

^Nearly all the schools in SoCal are out by Dec 21, so I can imagine they'd want to hit that target--it'll be a pretty big peak season with Holiday in the Park going on, as well as an upcoming new Winter Food Festival being debuted in about a week. It'll be pretty busy in the parks, weather...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

This is the same park that has Superman: The Escape, which is practically as a loud as a jet plane taking off. Have you ever stood underneath it when it launches? you could seriously go deaf. At the time, they said they wanted something loud that can be heard throughout the entire park, and...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

While the acceleration is relatively gradual, looks like it takes the first hill at a decent clip! But one test run doesn't necessarily mean it's going to open anytime soon, so I'm not exactly getting in line now. It'll likely be at least a few more weeks. That said, the peak winter break...

Is it a cred? - A general discussion topic

Actually, yes, it would be 3 credits to me (assuming I rode the original model)... I just realized I made that typo. And to clarify, let me simplify what I'm saying... a ride is a single credit as long as it remains at the same park, unless it undergoes significantly different change (such as...

Is it a cred? - A general discussion topic

This is actually the best counterargument I've heard. But I will say that I don't count a traveling carnival/funfair coaster because I assume it's always run by the same company, so it's always going to be operated the same way. BUT, if it's sold to a different company, they're likely to run...

Again, I can totally understand how many would disagree with me about counting relocations... I get it. Where I do have an issue is that if you don't count relocations, then how can you count clones? It should be either you count both or you count neither. To me, if you count clones but not...

A different seat, with the same ops, is the same ride. Again, to be honest, I see your point. I just don't happen to agree. By your logic, you shouldn't be counting any cloned coasters (such as Batmans, Galaxis, Roller Skaters, Boomerangs, etc). What's the difference between riding a...
