I thought they were just doing a slightly modernised version of the original, just with significantly improved effects. But this… that’s actually really impressive. I guess Paris will finally loose its title of the best Space Mountain like coaster. (Even though the SW overlay is horrible)
Just...
Just planned a counting tour through Belgium for this weekend. Looks like I might have a chance to give it a try this Sunday!
If that turns out to be true, I will share my review.
It is actually really challenging to design a „good“ layout with such insane speeds.
- The variance between cold and warm trains (yes, even in the desert) will significantly increase with track length and ride duration. Same goes for empty and full trains. Elements towards the end need to be...
I will be the first to comment on its lack of speed, as long I am fast enough ;-)
If they really do open (still not safe in my opinion), this might be a guilty pleasure ride for me. I love high speed coasters and really enjoyed Formula Rossa for its sense of speed. But this is not only faster...
To be fair, the „Dragster“ part of it is no longer there. A main part of the concept of the original ride was to be like a Dragster-race with its intense acceleration. That is now gone and replaced by a (what appears to be) weak LSM launch. I am not into Dragster racing, but I feel like they...
They where testing the capability of the launch system to see if TTD was viable. As far as I know, Xcelerator had already opened prior to this test runs taking place.
Slowing down the launch is (nearly) always an option. But with the highest element directly after it, your options are limited. Keep also in mind that the energy of a train is related in a quadratic function to the speed. Meaning: if the train goes 10mph at the slowest point, mph at the launch...
I did not see any Trimm mounts on the ride, so the amount of speed reduction is limited. Keep also in mind that the ride will speed up within the first year of operation.
It doesn’t look to extreme for me, and slightly to slow towards the end of the sections, but the latter one is to be...
The first picture is the queue, the picture is taken from the wooden emergency exit and shows what used to be the wooden fence and the painted concrete wall you used to walk straight towards to when passing over the bridge. Good to see that they finally realised they forgot to theme that area...
As the video starts at the top of the lifthill and ends before entering the station, I highly doubt that this was a recorded with the park's permission.
