Busch Gardens Williamsburg | Pantheon | Intamin LSM Coaster

I know these things would be near-impossible to build otherwise, but I wish parks didn’t have to chop down every tree in the vicinity to construct coasters, really looks pretty barren now. On the upside, that outerbank looks absolutely ace.

Plans for RMC Raptor at Wild Water West in South Dakota for 2021

Thanks Pear! They found us! 😀 Really though almost seems like they applied for the permit on a whim, to see if they were likely to get approval for a new coaster or not. Certainly doesn’t sound like they’ve actually ordered a Raptor sadly.

Plans for RMC Raptor at Wild Water West in South Dakota for 2021

Alas that site is blocked for those of us in Europe. Any chance you could paste the article here for us? I’m hoping it’s more great/ludicrous quotes from the GM 🙏🏼

SeaWorld San Diego | Emperor | B&M Dive Coaster

Also the second iteration of the vests, like on Valkyria, don’t progressively lock like the first gen set did so you’re not as pinned in your seat. There’s not the freedom the OTSRs had (strangely), but you can still feel good airtime. I don’t think they impact Valkyria negatively, but if I...

Kings Island | Orion | B&M Giga Coaster

Come on, there is only 57m difference in length between Orion and Shambhala, both are basically 1.5km, but Shambhala has 7 airtime hills as opposed to Orion’s 4, and a splashdown. I’m sure Orion will be good but the point I was making was that it doesn’t really do much considering its height and...

Kings Island | Orion | B&M Giga Coaster

Haha WHAT is with that testing video music? It’s like watching someone’s first RCT3 video on YouTube from the 2000s. Looks fine but in the camp of if you’re going to have that much height for this kind of coaster, make the most of it. I think Shambhala for example looks quite a bit better, let...

Sea World San Antonio | Texas Stingray | Wooden Coaster

Looks great, airtime everywhere and an amazing headchopper under the lift hill. Do we know though if they are planning to leave the ground like that in some kind of scorched-earth policy, like is it bare concrete or something? Would look infinitely better grassed/planted.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

But there is no need to make the pathway under the zero-G because there is already a path through the loop! As CSLKenny says, the newly-built gate by the hotel is set back, leaving the fire engine access route open, so there shouldn't be any restrictions on using the bridge any more, based on...

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

It looks very cool, and there should be a great foot chopper flying between those supports. I’m really not sure about the colour of the STC though, it would at least look much better if the other way around... Another thing I was thinking about was the impact this would have on the feel of the...

Flamingo Land | Unknown | Intamin 10 Inversion Coaster

It has indeed been completed, last piece went in this morning: Guess those rumours about issues with the cobra roll trenches, and RCS leaving the site, were unfounded? There’s a chance this might actually open at the start of the season.

Thorpe Park: What could the future hold?

Even if Thorpe could afford to invest, what incentive do they really have to? The nearest park with major coasters is multiple hours drive away - probably Alton, owner by Merlin too. Within a reasonable catchment area there just isn’t any competition. Sure Paultons are approaching a place where...

    YAY Merlin!

Wasn’t sure where best to put this, but here are some pictures of Alton looking beaut in the recent snow.

Paultons Park | Tornado Springs | New Area 2020

To the general UK family though, is this true? I feel if this was really the case then Alton Towers should be in real trouble with their lack of water rides and good dark rides 😛 Seriously though, at the moment Paultons have plenty to market - 4 coasters, a log flume, Peppa Pig world, the good...

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Great info, thanks Fluorineer! At least it sounds like the new hotel will have an entrance into the park in though (near the restaurant?).

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

I found this particularly jarring when staying at Matamba. They’ve got this amazing setting, and if they wanted you could walk from within the hotel, across that awesome bridge through Black Mamba’s loop, but instead you’re spat onto the main road and have to go through the weird 1980s main...

SeaWorld San Diego | Emperor | B&M Dive Coaster

Usually whenever B&M dive machines get announced, especially without tunnels, I often find them really uninspiring and formulaic. This though looks like a really fun layout (love the cutback and the rolls that follow), and Valkyria rides so well I’m pretty optimistic for this too.

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Massive thanks to all for updates particularly @CSLKennyNI for the great summaries. (I should really say this in every thread, makes the forum great) I know that this project has been dragging on a ridiculous amount of time but it’s so ridiculously cool I still find myself so excited, even if...

    IAAPA Expo Europe 2019

Also love that just before they released it they thought, “wait, this needs some theming!”, and all they could come up with was a giant orange Lego helmet to put on the lift tower. edit - is the lift tower actually a giant PEZ dispenser

    Phantasialand | F. L. Y. | Vekoma Launched Flying Coaster

Completely agree, and one of the things that I think makes it even cooler is that these won’t just be static bits of theming, but people will be walking and standing on the walkways at all heights of the hotel buildings so you’ll glimpse up at them as you zoom past and the area will feel that...

    Top 10(ish): 2020 Edition - page 96

I love reading these. Just reading CookieCoasters’ ranking above, there’s a beautiful description of The Voyage, EGF above Steel Vengeance which I could just about understand if SV was ridden on a bad day, but then Helix, a coaster I would class as near-perfection, all the way down at 21! I...
