Thought I'd post now I've got a few more under by belt - still really want to get on Iron Gwazi!
1. Twisted Colossus (SFMM) - I'm a sucker for duelling coasters and this is easily the best
2. Zadra (Energylandia)- That stall is glorious and I think it sits just on the right side of intensity...
Yeah I heard so many people in the queue before we were let in getting annoyed at the notice about Hyperia being delayed. It wasn't clear at all either, the app just said 'opening soon' and it was clearly testing, could have done with a sign saying 'Hyperia will not open at 10:00am - Check back...
I feel like maybe we're outliers, a lot of people have had a great time at Thorpe Park this year, that's partly what convinced us to give it another try! But I wanted to have a bit of a rant about it to show it's not all great.
Apologies for no pictures on this one, just didn't have my phone out much at all!
We headed back to Thorpe Park yesterday for the first time since 2021. Back then we left at lunch because the park was in such a bad state, after eating a terrible burrito from the Mexican place, all the rides...
Finally got on Hyperia yesterday, after it didn't open for the first hour or so of the park being open. They were testing it loaded up with water dummies, then it was going around empty for a while, then it just seemed to stop completely for about 40 minutes before they sent a few more test...
Good Report, we went a few weeks ago and I agree, the operations aren't as bad as people make out, maybe they used to be much worse? We've been going since 2016 and have never had too much trouble, other than a lot of downtime for the various rides.
Also agree about Uncharted, the theming is...
I don't think it matters that Tussauds were running the parks into the ground too (oh god all those vending machines) but Merlin hasn't been any better imo.
It's the lack of competition, I still think the vast majority of the public don't know how good and how close parks like Phantasialand...
I'm very jealous reading most of these.
My local park is Pleasurewood Hills (about 40 minutes away) or Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach (about 35 minutes away). I haven't been to Pleasurewood in years, not since they removed Hobb's Pit, but before that I used to go maybe once every five years or...
We haven't been yet. Our last trip to Thorpe was pretty bad (bad food, park looked shabby, long queues for everything) so we're not in a rush to return. Maybe we will in the summer, orcin September.
I just don't want to be queuing 45 minutes+ for everything
Interesting article in Bedford Today - apparently people from the council were meant to give an update on the project at a meeting but they didn't attend, someone else was asked for more news but they said they'd signed an NDA so weren't sure what was allowed to be said.
Sounds like it probably...
I last went to Puy Du Fou 20 years ago, but it really is an impressive place. The shows can't really be compared to anything else in theme parks, other than maybe Waterworld at Universal, the scale and level of special effects is stunning.
I remember the first show we watched was about a siege...
Yeah that's what I said to my wife. For next year, we'll head to Epic Universe for the first week and then not go to Disney until the 2nd week of the trip, when usually we'd do maybe 3 nights at Universal and then 11 at Disney.
This is from WDW Magic but all the Disney sites seem to have the same information (I'm guessing from a press release, I can't find the FAQ on any official sites)
But basically Hotel Guests can book 7 days in advance, non-hotel guests can book 3 days in advance, and international guests can book...
Apparently if you are an international visitor you can't book them until the first day you get to America, by which point they'll all be taken by the hotel guests who live in the US.
I'm guessing you could use a VPN to get around it but that's a crappy requirement.
Seems like maybe an internal decision has already been made to ahead with this, otherwise why would they still be releasing all this stuff? Didn't people say there were told at the meeting that the decision was meant to be made in June?
