Villain-con Minion Blast - Universal Florida, Moving walkway 'ride'.

Due to open this season at Universal studios Florida in the old Shrek 4D building is a new interactive dark'ride'. I heard mention of this a while back and was intrigued by the utilisation of a moving walkway as a ride system, basically an Omnimover without any cars! We've all been on them at...

What is keeping you on forums in the social media age?

One thing I find nice about forums is the slower pace and the ability to catch up with threads and re-visit archives. Social media is too much too fast, I'm In a number of facebook interest groups and know that I'll spot an interesting post and then loose it! - And have a hard time finding it...

All filler - no killer. Well rounded parks with poor headline attractions.

Europa park is the Mecca of these - Blue fire and silver star etc - I REALLY enjoy riding them every time, but they aren't getting in any favourite lists. Wodan I'd argue is the headliner and 'above' average & one of my fav woodies in Europe. But despite that - its still my fav park ever...

Great Coaster Names That Haven't Been Used Yet.

I'm pretty... (well very) irreligious (well organised religions) and see the word Ascension more as it's Noun form of rising/lifting to a higher place! Besides other religions use the term too, and therefore it's not dissimilar to 'Shambala' as a name!

All filler - no killer. Well rounded parks with poor headline attractions.

It really depends if you are a theme park or coaster fan - Efteling and Europa are 2 of my top 5 favourite parks - that's because of their outstanding dark rides and general vibe, but on the coaster front yes - you could say their coasters are fillers, but I won't call the parks themselves fillers.

The World of David Walliams is coming to Alton Towers

Very astute reply - and I agree. I just tend to push back a little when I see such things!! For e.g. the assumption that everyone of a minority is offended by certain things and if they're not....they should be! etc But absolutely thats not for here! peace out!

The World of David Walliams is coming to Alton Towers

I mean who gets to say what's offensive - I'm gay and never found any of the gay stuff offensive in fact I found it hilarious, and I have black friends who've said the same about that aspect of of the show - the most offended people tend to be middle class white men who didn't really have...

The most irritating theme park visit ever

It's worth sending what you've just written to the park or cutting and pasting 'as is' on TripAdvisor!

Great Coaster Names That Haven't Been Used Yet.

There needs to be a Hyper-or-Giga coaster called 'Ascension' - that is all!

Duel at Alton Towers closing on 6th September - retheme or refurbishment for 2023?

I had exactly the same thought r.e. Conjuring 2 - I too thought its highly unlikely - but as someone pointed out on social media - this is Merlin and they've used the SAW franchise etc before, So who knows - on a personal level I love the conjuring franchise - so its an IP id get behind and if...

Duel at Alton Towers closing on 6th September - retheme or refurbishment for 2023?

As long as its not too narrative driven - one reason I prefer the original haunted mansion to Phantom Manor is that the story is a bit more mysterious whilst PM over-eggs the back story so much it's actually more confusing that just a series of random spooky things happening in a haunted house...

Duel at Alton Towers closing on 6th September - retheme or refurbishment for 2023?

I really don't think a trackless system is particularly needed having ridden 2 of Europes best ghost trains this year - Hotel psycho at Prater and Bla Taget at Grona Lund possible developments I'd like to see:- have the cars rotate and go backwards for sections like Hotel Psycho's ride...

Surveying occurring at Paultons Park - potential new attraction?

Thing with Paultons when I visited - I thought they were in the Cusp of becoming a proper theme park, they really need to scrap the go-carts and off-the-shelf log flume and pull together that end of the park and I think they'd be there! a custom log flume or rapids built with proper...

What is your "home park" abroad?

Toverland, Efteling and Europa are my 'at least once a year' parks that don't need any new creds to get me back.....I just need a fix of them, I feel 'at home' in them - I suppose in a similar way people return to same resort each year! As a non driver - Efteling is actually much easier to get...

    Britain and foreign languages

English is an international language - So all the signage etc you see isn't just for British (and American) people - but because many people in the world have English as a second or third language - they can communicate between themselves using English as 2nd option! A good example of this is...
