    "Now Showing"

The Batman's on HBO max now so I gave it a watch. It was pretty good and I enjoyed watching it, but there was some frustrating things that I noticed. There's a ton of dialogue (including some exposition dumps from Andy Serkis, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and a few others which are all supposed to...

    Rank the Harry Potter films

4>3>5>6>8>2>1>7 for me. Prisoner of Azkaban is probably "objectively" the best one, but I just find Goblet of Fire really re-watchable for some reason or another. I dunno, if I had to put just one Harry Potter movie on to watch, that's usually the one I'd gravitate to. They're both great...

    Top 10(ish): 2023 Edition - page 118

Okay, this took a ton of ruminating to determine whether I liked Fury enough to bump Twimbers out of my top 5, but here we go: 1. Intimidator 305 2. Maverick 3. Lightning Rod 4. Steel Vengeance 5. Fury 325 6. Twisted Timbers 7. New Texas Giant 8. Diamondback 9. Phantom's Revenge 10. Boardwalk...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

If that were the case, wouldn't they just say nothing and ignore the rumor? I feel like 90% of people who go to the park regularly don't even know what Screamscape is.

    Most surprising coaster addition ever?

Steel Curtain. Even now, I'm still a little confused by it existing at Kennywood.

Popular food & drink trends you don’t get?

Man, what kind of Brit are you? (kidding) For me it's boba tea. I'm not really much of a tea-drinker in the first place, but those little deer poop-shaped rubbery tapioca pellets unexpectedly shooting up the straw into your mouth is just like.... yeeugh. I don't get it at all. It's the food...

If a group or a singer put there I.P to a type of thrill ride or rollercoaster then what would it be?

I have no freaking clue what kind of ride Cattle Decapitation would slap their IP on to, but I'd ride it in a heartbeat. Even if it's an SLC. ESPECIALLY if it's an SLC.

Is Apollo's chariot really the first B&M hyper?

As others have said, yes, the drop is higher than 200 feet. Only counting the standing height does a disservice to terrain coasters. Even if the drop were less than 200 feet, I would argue that the je na sais quoi of a hypercoaster (big drop, long, fast, big camel backs, usually some airtime)...

SeaWorld Makes $3.4 Billion Offer to Acquire Cedar Fair

@MakoMania good point, I hadn't even thought of how close their Florida parks are to each other.

SeaWorld Makes $3.4 Billion Offer to Acquire Cedar Fair

Is there any scenario where this goes through and SeaWorld DOESN'T absolutely gut Kings Dominion? This is giving me Geauga Lake vibes and I don't like it.

    Best and Worst Coaster Names?

People have brought up plenty of badly named coasters from Universal, yet surprisingly nobody has mentioned the word salad abomination that is "Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit" Best is Great Bear. It's not just a good bear - it's a GREAT bear. And it sounds like one too.

What Started As A Matterhorn Question And Is Now A Merged General Discussion On What Counts as Coaster Credit

Dunno how controversial this is, but I count standup to floorless conversions as being two separate credits. i.e I have Mantis and Rougaroo as separate entries in my count.

Coasters you like more than most

The one I immediately think of is InvadR. People always talk about it as if it's a family coaster, or generally below average for a GCI, but I thought it was lots of fun. Good first drop, some good airtime pops here and there, and it kept its speed for most of the ride. Honestly I'd put it...

Minor changes you would make to existing attractions

Change that straight track between the first and second drops of Phantom's Revenge to a tiny speed hill. Speaking of Morgan "hypers", make the seats a little more comfy on Steel Eel so that awesome airtime doesn't result in back pain.

Will VelociCoaster push Disney to build more thrilling rides?

^What he said. I'm not sure if Velocicoaster created quite the same buzz outside of the coaster enthusiast bubble as it did inside, but I know that nobody would shut up about Hagrid's for months and months after it opened. Also Universal has been adding thrilling rollercoasters for decades...
