    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Wasn't sure quite where to put this but this works... The restrictions in Belgium at the moment do not allow indoor eating, much like the UK currently. As such, Plopsaland have transformed their Teacups attraction (which has a roof but no walls, so counts as outdoors) into a designated eating...

Plopsaland de Panne | The Ride to Happiness | Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster | 2021

A video from Theme Park Magic giving a look at the ride: It looks great in its own right, and I'm loving how close some of the pathways are to the track! I'll once again repeat the fears I have related to this investment though, as that video hasn't really alleviated them. This is a monster...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Future Predictions

In Blackpool, I hear there's plenty of ways to take a, err, 'trip' to happiness. None of them involve any sort of ride....

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I do wonder if it's very similar to how the UK restrictions were in late March / early April were, just worded differently. Theme parks couldn't open, but some outdoor places could. That meant that Alton Towers could open the Gardens and mini golf, for example. I think it's stupid for the...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

So French theme parks have had some news about their reopening...and they're not happy. Source: https://www.sortiraparis.com/arts-culture/walks/articles/248140-covid-theme-parks-to-reopen-from-may-19-rides-only-from-june-9/lang/en Basically, outdoor visitor attractions - including theme parks...

Theme park soundtracks that get stuck in your head

I'm also a fan of the current soundtrack; "Buckle up it's a thrill ride!" was stuck in my head for a lot of the day after my first ride!

Theme park soundtracks that get stuck in your head

Chiapas' entire soundtrack is the answer for this. Much like the entirety of the experience itself, it is practically perfect in every way. I'm also a big fan of Lech's music played in the pre show like room:

Movie Park Germany | Unknown | Intamin Multi Dimension Coaster | 2021

Another theming update, mostly of some exterior bits and bobs, which is looking a bit more elaborate than I expected:

Walibi Belgium | Kondaa | Intamin Mega Coaster | 2021

Looks like there's some nice Kondaa merch there. Also happy that they main ride area has grass, rather than just the dirt/mud that the official POV shows. Was hoping there might have been some shrubbery around there, but equally, it's not that big an issue.

Walibi Belgium | Kondaa | Intamin Mega Coaster | 2021

Saw this posted by the ECC; don't think I've ever seen this graphic before: Element 20 sounds the best

I, for one, welcome our new Intamin overlords, including King Kondaa.

Hall Of Shame - Types Of Rides That Deserve To Be Inducted

Surprised I didn't think of this sooner, and that it's taken this long to be mentioned in the thread, but Orphan Rocker is in with a shout too!

Hall Of Shame - Types Of Rides That Deserve To Be Inducted

S&S Sky Swats. Only two ever made. Significantly plagued with downtime. Only lasted as long as they did because of stubborn determination probably.

Closest coasters to a “Jack of all trades”?

For a good 'little bit of everything, all-rounder fantastic ride', Taiga is the one that jumps out to me. The layout has anything and everything you'd want from a coaster, and it does it all brilliantly. For a bad 'jack of all trades; master of none' coaster (which is what I thought this thread...

Universal IoA | Jurassic World VelociCoaster | Intamin Blitz | 2021

I would find it hilarious now if, in a couple of years' time, the general consensus on here is that Icon is better than Velocicoaster. I would also cry. But still.

    Silver Dollar City 2022??

Not quite the slam dunk of an announcement people were hoping for then?

    WTF Merlin?

Now that's weird. Unless things have changed in the last couple of years, Swarm is probably one of the more sensitive rides to wind and would be the first major ride I'd expect to be closed for wind-related reasons But yeah, sounds like an awful day. Noticed that Thorpe tweeted about the Return...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I still find it a mystery why some parks are doing social distancing on rides to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I get the logic. By them leaving a row between groups on certain rides, it shows that they're doing what they can to keep groups separated. And along with social distancing markers...

    Toverland's Expansion Plan

Am I right in thinking that they did at one point consider renaming themselves at that point? I know there was a small rebrand with the logo (which I wasn't a fan of - the current one feels a bit bland tbh), and seem to remember reading an interview somewhere where the name was mentioned. I...
