I reckon that was the exact intention mostly and surely it's not a bad thing. How in the name of Jehova did they get a camera through the metal detectors? It looks good and I don't expect it to have the Taron rush but it probably still feels quite fast with so many close encounters with the...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Does anyone else think some of the new rules are getting quite vague now? Apparently from midnight several towns including Blackpool are forbidding visits to other people's homes and saying that public transport is only there for essential trips so I guess tourists shouldn't use the tram again...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Interesting how that varies between country within the same company. Walibi Holland have been ramping up their Halloween adverts quite a bit this week and even just stated 2 hours ago on Facebook: "A lot is cancelled this year but Walibi Holland's Halloween Fright Nights are going ahead."

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Have to say I thought both videos were interesting and made valid points. No one is a pandemic expert here (at least not that I know of). People are just roller coaster fans posting their views on something that has fundamentally changed our hobby this year. I have no problem if the site owner...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Probably just close the queue lines a bit earlier to ensure everyone is booted out of the parks well before 10pm. I would imagine less people would be inclined to join queue lines late anyway from now on knowing this curfew exists.

    WTF Merlin?

The demand for Towers must be quite high. I had no problem booking 3 days season pass entry for BPB last week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) on Wednesday evening. Saturday was pretty busy. But as has been hinted at the season passes for Merlin parks are pretty damn cheap too and I think they...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

To be fair I've not been to loads of places but for me Blackpool Pleasure Beach still seems/seemed the most consistent with staff wearing masks everywhere. In most supermarkets I've been to I've seen several staff members not wear them. Fair enough they are behind shields a bit at the checkouts...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I never suggested anything of the sort. I actually pointed out that most disinformation is a direct result from what politicians and so called experts have suggested themselves over the last 6 months but that seems lost on you. This is a discussion of the effects of Covid 19 on theme parks and...

Of course they can but people can also change their mind for who they voted for if they keep getting told things they don't like or agree with when they have better information.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

There has been quite a bit of backflipping from advisors and politicians as well though: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/coronavirus-uk-news-professor-chris-whitty-no-masks-advice-a9374086.html

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Sir Patrick Vallance scaring the UK public by suggesting there COULD be 50.000 daily cases in the UK in less than a month's time. Of course no figures on how many hospital admissions or deaths that means, now it is only about cases suddenly. Vallance did say 200 deaths per day by November...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

The media and political sensation does seem to be exaggerated going by figures at the moment: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/deaths If we consider deaths, they have not even reached the figures around 4th of July when we were happy to ease restrictions. Now indeed those figures MAY go up...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

I was in Blackpool the last few days. Pleasure Beach good, most people adhering to the rules. Good weather. However at the pier in the evening and surrounding areas no one gives a crap anymore. I can sort of understand it. People want to enjoy themselves. People too close to each other and most...

Dreamworld Australia To Close Tower Of Terror

One of those coasters I saw in RCT 20 years ago and thought wow looks cool. But will probably never ride.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Well, I disagree and I could barely stomach wearing one throughout 2 1/2 hours Tenet which was a dreadful film to make matters worse. I won't be going to the cinema most likely again in this situation. I think I'm not the only one and studios are taking note, constantly pushing their big movies...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Loopings is reporting that Disneyland Paris is heavily reducing opening times. From 5th October during the week the studios park is only open between 11am and 4pm, which is even shorter than the shortest weekday opening hours at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers. I think forcing people...

It looks better than I thought it would going by the short terrible 1991 video camera footage.

Port Aventura / La Liga Theme Park

So boring and dull. Well for me at least. I can't say that watching sport (Olympics / Euros) has been the most important thing missing from my life this year. Hardly noticed its absence to be honest.
