Kettle in the room means can snack on Pot Noodles though :D

So yeah, watch it with that rock and roll lifestyle mate. Just because you're in a hotel, it doesn't give you permission to go mad ;)

But would he be found? The illegal immigrant cleaner would hide him in a cupboard for fear of losing her job xD

Made my day though, Phil :)

So far, not had any bad experiences (or at least none that spring to mind), nor any amazing ones either.

Usually cheap, cheerful and occasionally drab, but as long as I get my kip I'm not too fussed really.

Never stayed in a Travelodge before but I love Premier Inns. There's nearly always one near where I want one and they are brilliant! Really comfy as well.

Something pretty funny is there's a famous 4* luxury hotel in York that's £10 cheaper a night than all local Premier Inns! Looks so nice aswell with an indoor swimming pool included!

As long as it isn't a Knight's Inn, I really don't care what hotel chain it is. Travelodge's have been about on par with every other chain motel I've been to. Some nice, some not so much. It depends entirely on the staff that work there.

^Hmmmmmm, no. Not in my experience anyway

The woman on reception at the Southend Travelodge was nice (let us check in early, efficient, pleasant etc.), but the rooms were like something out of Dante's Inferno.

Personally, I couldn't really care less about the staff. Be polite, do your job efficiently and give me my key. That's about as much interaction as I want thanks.

Is it me or does every travelodge have the same, distinct smell? I actully love it and gives me a holiday feel.

lol bit of a strange post but it's my opinion :p

^ I'm not sure what kind of holidays smell of stale sperm, used tampons and day-old vomit, but whatever.

My only experience with a Travelodge is in Ashbourne (near Alton Towers) which i've stayed in twice and both times ive had a good experience. I think it is a pretty new one though, may be a different story with some of the older ones in the center of towns.

We only experienced one problem, which was a small issue with the shower, but they gave us an extra night for free! Gave us a day to take a look around some of the area surrounding Alton Towers (which is really nice).

We just stayed in the Borehamwood Travelodeg (Studio Way). It's a bit old fashioned, even for a Travelodge!

Two legs at the top of the bed had been broke off and the bed was tipped up, yet I didn't even notice! Still, can't complain at £23 per night for 3 of us.
