Have a topic to discuss the latest TV. :)

I'll start off, I watched the angelos epithimiou show earlier, and wasn't expecting much. I didn't think he could host his own show as well as being a small part of it, but I was proved wrong. It was hilarious, loved every minute!

EDIT: Changed the title so it fits in with the other topics. :p

    Re: TV discussion

I finished watching season 6 of Dexter tonight.

It was a bit crap, but better than 3 and 5.

Good topic, actually. I thought we needed one for a while but couldn't be BOTHERED.

    Re: TV discussion

I watch Anime mostly... If not then cartoons. Tell you what I am enjoying in these new fangled crappy cartoons where so few are actually watchable.

Regular Show is :emoji_zipper_mouth: amazing. It is just so, me... In a nutshell. Adventure Time and The Amazing World of Gumball are quite cute as well.

Trying to get through Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Gurren Lagann still. Waiting for the Walking Dead season 2 to get on bluray. I don't like devoting my self to watching a tv show at a set time or sorting my self out tp record all the episode on sky+ or some :emoji_zipper_mouth:, I'd rather wait and be able to watch it at any pace I feel like.

Now if you'll excuse me I have some more hardcore tentecle furry anime porn to watch, where's my body pillow? I mean... My waifu!!!

I'm a fan of game/quiz shows and comedy mostly. I love Graham Linehan comedies (Black Books followed by IT Crowd are favourites) and also panel shows like QI and Mock the Week.

On the game/quiz front, I always make an effort to watch University Challenge (maybe one day in the distant future our college might get a team on). But the all time favourite has to be Crystal Maze. I went through a period of obsession around 14 when FTN (which doesn't exist any more) was showing reruns. I have a book full of doodles of games I designed for it. I kinda want it to come back, but I can see TV stations making it awful (rumours came and went last year of a return fronted by Amanda Holden *shudders*)

Richard O'brian is still alive. If a reboot of the Crystal Maze is done without him I will not accept it and shun it's existance with violence

Richard O'Brian was awesome. Ed Tudor-Pole didn't do a horrid job though. But I may be rating his series up because they had awesome games and the ocean zone. If they brought it back, somebody like Eddie Izzard or Bill Bailey would be great for somebody who is witty but a bit odd.

I'm a couple of episodes in to American Horror Story.

Really liking it so far. It's creepy, messed up, a bit wtf at times. Excellent, and hopefully will stay that way.

Oh, and Jessica Lange is absolutely AMAZING in it. She's creepy, hilariously funny, and upsetting all at the same time. LOVE her in this!

Glad to see I am not the only who watches American Horror Story.

It definitely gets more WTF so if you like that then you should enjoy the rest of the season. I am just sad that I have got to the finale and I want more :p

I finished watching The Killing Series 1 over xmas. (The good Danish one). It's such a slow burner!! By hour 4 I thought they had the guy caught then realised there were 16 more hours to go. Can't give too much away but it's definitely worth the watch if you don't mind things with subtitles!

Modern Family, 2 & 1/2 Men, Office (both those two are starting to suck though), 2 Broke Girls, Rules of Engagement, How I met your Mother, Whitney, The League, Blue Mountain State, and I have just started watching the first season of Walking Dead...hopefully it is as good as some say.

I didn't think it was too bad for an American sitcom.
    The Middle is awful though...

I'm about 4 episodes in to the first series of Terra Nova.

Meh, to be honest. It's already becoming repetitive: "hero" character defies a direct order and manages to save the day again. And again.

Hmmm....Ive watched some interesting shows as of late, but will stick to the main ones.

Watched High School of the Dead. Its a short anime series that really impressed me. It made me think that the creator had read World War Z and based it off of when the outbreak started happening. Very intriguing anime.

I LOVE me some Tabatha Takes Over. Such a bitch <3 Miss when she only took over Salons, but the new season looks fab so far.

Waiting for the 30th to come so I can watch Miss Ru again either online or on Bravo XD

Also have started watching Heat Guy J, Desert Punk (again...so funny), and got United State of Tara, Angel Beat, Walking Dead and several other shows (that are escaping me atm) set on Netflix to watch at my leisure.

    Switching between the hideouts'...

New series of Rupaul's Drag Race started a couple of days ago. It is THE best show on television. Elvira as a guest judge in the first episode <3. I've :emoji_zipper_mouth: ing LOVED that woman since I was about 10 years old.

    Re: TV discussion

I don't watch a lot of TV, which means I don't hear about things until they've been on and then I either have to watch them on DVD or catchup, which means I skip the adverts and miss other TV shows that might interest me. Ever decreasing circles and all that.

Netflix is excellent as I can start watching shows like this that otherwise it's difficult to get into after you've missed a few episodes on a channel without catchup (then it's a series you've missed, etc, etc.

So watching Dexter series one now on Netflix and it's average to good. I like the concept, but like most US dramas the actual content is cliched and obvious. The bit that's "twisted" (which makes it not a run of the mill cop drama) is interesting and raises the level of the series. I also like that America have finally understood a story arc is a thing. So better than most, but still not superb. I do want to watch more and more episodes though so it's got to have something about it. It's not like House or Lie to me where I watch it just to take the piss, or The Walking Dead to see if it will ever get as good as people think it is ;)

On live, real TV I'm watching the BBC documentary series about the Crusades which is a little early for my interests, but still quite informative. Also watching a series on BBC4 about cataclysm survivors; species that have lived through mass extinctions. It's a little annoying, but it's great to see some very odd and ancient creatures still around today. Though obviously it's all lies as the world has only been around for 4,000 years, but science is a renegade like that and enjoys making stuff up to back up their wild and crazy beliefs ;)

On DVD I'm trying to plough through the entire collection of Babylon 5, which was (for me) the top TV series of the 90's. An entire 100+ hours of story written in a 5 series arc before Lost was even a minor glimpse in the eye of anyone. Things in the very first episode don't become relevant until another series and characters and plots entwine cunningly through the whole series. It helps that it's light entertainment too ;) From the 90's there was this and Buffy, and Buffy learned a lot about creating a story world from Babylon 5. Sadly the series went rapidly to pot with Warner never promising to renew while a series was being written. So each series was neutered just in case they never got the budget. In the end, the plots and episodes suffered from a hint of desperation to complete the story. Oddly, Babylon 5 never went over budget and never failed to make Warner money at any point, they just didn't understand the concept of having a story world and arc that meant you had mysteries that wouldn't be solved for years to come. Something that has proven over the last decade to be a necessity with American drama.

Watching it again, it IS cliched and very wooden and poor in parts, but the story is king and with that it excels.

I've decided tonight to start re-watching Skins from series one, episode one all the way up to the series 4 finale. Series 5 and 6 (so far) were and have been terrible.

Looking back, I can see how unrealistic the storylines are, how silly they get at times and how some episodes were quite badly directed, however, I really cannot fault some of the script writing, especially as most of it was done by people about my age. Take away the unrealistic elements of the script, and you have solid story which is creditable and believable. The characters are brilliantly made and developed (with the exception on Tony, I feel).

Amazing, and bringing back memories of 5 years ago <3
