Well it's been confirmed that there's going to be at least nine Saw movies, so they've got room to add at least one scene from the next three films.

Actually, Patrick Melton (One of the writers) has said him and Marcus Dunstan are writing VII to potentially be the last one, and if not it will end on number 8. It will depend on sevens box office ratings, but they are pretty sure it shall be the last.

No Ollie, nothing's EVER confirmed in films. If the takings keep falling, they will stop making them.

I will put money on it that they will not add another room. Waste money upgrading a maze which is getting slated or put the money on something more useful. If they were to add another room it wouldn't attract much attention if everyone is coming off thinking its crap. If anything was to be edited or changed it will be this years Fright Nights but then again I doubt it. Thorpe fails, Whats new?

^They've already said they will. They've even got the space ready to convert when the next film comes out. That way it adds something new to the maze next year. And not everyone is coming out saying it's crap. It's had mixed reviews but it doesn't mean it's crap.

Disappointed by all the reviews so far, I am going to Thorpe next week and I am hoping by then Saw Alive will be much better than people have said it is up to now.

No, it doesn't explain the poor response. The poor response was due to the fact that Thorpe marketed this as an extreme horror maze, something that will make you jump, and be scared <img> which it was clearly never going/intended to be.

Thats the most foolish comment I have ever heard...

Q - What is Saw?
A - It's one of the most gruesome movies available...

Q - What do we expect even if Merlin didn't announce its fear-factor?
A - To be scared something stupid, even if Merlin said there would be fluffy pillows and pink petals in there...

So if it wasn't intended to be horrifying, then why the hell did they make Saw Alive?

Foolish..

So when people go in expecting something along the lines of The Asylum, and then don't really get scared at all, they are going to look dissapointed.

But thats just it...

We didn't expect it to be anything like Asylum. But we did imagine something like Se7en, which is actually quite an intense experience without it being a jump-n-run attraction.

So Thorpe failed miserably on this one and I can't understand why as they've got Se7en down to a t...?

So, no it isn't a scary maze,
So whats the point in it then?

Again, a idiotic comment...

but yes, the theming is top notch.

Not really...
Now Wicked Witches Haunted was top notch theming... This is just 6 square rooms with black textured paint. Any Tom, Dick and Harry could have done this. And also, most of the props are off-the-shelf items found at Gore Galore...

Oh, and as for the upper deck, I can only assume that it'll be used for future rooms, they will probably add one when SAW VII comes out, and then add more scenes from previous movies (Presuming they finish with VII). They wouldn't keep it the same year after year.

Mate.... Keep dreaming.

They have blocked the indoor access to the upper deck and outside access is only to the left which is where you enter and this is also blocked off by a solid wall. Where do you go from there?

Nowhere really, unless they send people from right to left which is not going to happen.

Sorry I didn't rip you to pieces Ollie, but you haven't been through it yet, rendering your comments invalid.

Like they said they would get a flying coaster? I'm not saying it's crap. I have followed this maze since it was announced and have been looking forward to it for a while. I knew it wouldn't be but I like my maze jumpy and giving a sense of panic. Like TOTT at AT that last cage scene on that maze is proof that Merlin can do maze's right. This whole Saw theme will be gone by 2 years.

Does anyone know if they’re using the original Saw soundtrack in the attraction? Or is it in-house like Saw – The Ride?

Going from photos, the thing I’m most disappointed about with Saw Alive (as a Saw fan), is the lack of continuity between the films and attraction. In the bathroom scene for instance, Jigsaw’s in the wrong place, the foot sawing never happened and there’s a pillar which wasn’t in the film. So when Thorpe Park say they worked with Lionsgate to ensure total accuracy of the key elements within Saw Alive. I seriously doubt that.

Anyway it made The One Show this evening. Here’s the iplayer link:

(It's the first item they show.)

I went to Thorpe today for opening day and have to say that I didn't think Saw Alive was very good. Mainly because there was a lack of actors to scare you, however the themeing's pretty good inside.

I went on Saturday and in all honesty .. it's crap!

Not scary at all, most probably because it's in March and the atmosphere's not there, but generally it's just not good. Not compared to there other mazes such as 'Asylum'. Now THAT'S a decent maze.

Saw alive

I've been looking forward to this ride for months, but the youtube vid I saw looked a bit disappointing. The fact that you don't go around in groups like the excellent Passage Del Terror maze is a big mistake. At least in your own group the experience isn't spoilt by idiots trying to prove to their girlfriends they're not scared. It also doesn't look dark enough, but I'll have to see for myself next month.
Btw, after visiting Pass Del Terror a few times, I wrote to Thorpe Park in 2005 suggesting they install a year round horror attraction and charge £3.00 admission (this would pay for more/better actors rather than Thorpe Park volunteer staff!) but I was sent a reply saying thanks, but no thanks.
Hypocrites!!

Re: Saw alive

Like I said before it's awful.

However I suppose some credit is due, as the theming is quite well done, the time of year kinda spoils it aswell there's no atmosphere like on halloween. Oh well, I'm sure TP have there reasons ..

That is so true! Also is probably one of the things that ruined it.

Morbidly obese ginger people trying to compensate for there pointless being by shouting back at actors to prove they're tough, when I can feel there sweaty hands tremor on my shoulders.

What a minor inconveniance.

I was amazed at the fact that myself and my girlfriend were told to not abuse the actors. We've come to a point in society were people have to be reminded of this? Truely amazing.

Overall yes, it isn't the best attraction, but I did jump a few times and was sucked into the maze. I'll admit I did get bored after the 4th room but still managed to enjoy myself. Other half was scared, but that's due to the fact she can't stand being in the dark and people jumping out from no-where. (understandable...)

Theming was top notch for me, but I've NOTHING to compare it too really. But it's impressive for what Thorpe has at the park.

I doubt it'll be an attraction that'll be around for long, so I'm glad I got on it. I think?

Sounds pretty reasonable considering it's at Thorpe Park.

Saw the advert for it on TV for the first time last night. They made it look quite good and kinda merged Alive and The Ride into one advert and advertised them as a kinda double bill of Saw attractions.

Exactly the point I'm making. It's now... reasonable. Oh well...
