At the gym and being scoffed at by the Thor's (guys who spend all their time on free weights), I was trying to practice my kickboxing steps and heard them scoffing "kickboxing isn't a proper workout". Argh keep your piston breathing opinion to yourself!

Why not just kick them in the groin and make a run for it.

Ummm, annoying little twats when playing online games that scream everytime they kill someone while their voice cracks. Seriously, you are 12, get over it. If they dont, I just stary knifing them if it is Call of Duty or I just outright refuse to play anymore. **** consoles >_<

Thank god for wasd and my mouse

And more from me - people who go over my head to my boss to complain about problems when they've either already had an answer off me, or they just haven't contacted me at all (this always happens at our St. Helens office, so maybe just putting St. Helens in Room 101 is the answer? :p ).

This week, it's Vodafone. They've got a problem with their network in the North West (probably somebody stealing the cables ;) ) so mobile calls aren't working. I got a call late on Tuesday, chased it and found it was a fault with Vodafone. Told them "it's a fault with Vodafone, they are aware of it and it'll be fixed when they fix it".

So it's still not fixed and I get a semi-bollocking call off my boss about the fact the mobiles up there aren't working (he's had a complaint from them). What do they want me to do? Go to the towers and kick the engineers until they've fixed it? It's a problem with the Vodafone network over a large area, they know about it and they know it needs fixing. They don't care how many times I call to complain, they will still only fix it as quickly as they feel like/can. I just can't do anything.

I had another phone die this morning with one of our reps. This time, it's a faulty phone and he'll have a new one first thing tomorrow morning. I do my job and get the stuff sorted where I can, but if it's out of my control, putting in a complaint to my boss isn't going to get anything done any faster.

So yep, St. Helens needs to go.

This **** trend in education (at least here in the US) of project based learning. Yes, a **** project is great for art, but if I wanted to learn another language I wouldn't be **** around doing **** like a poster on some **** sport that I could give two **** and half a rat's ass about. Just to **** those with actual work ethics even more they have the brilliant idea of making every thing a **** group project with random groups in classes full of worthless **** that couldn't write 5 words of their own volition under pain of death and 5 people who will inevitably end up overworked and with **** grades because of the lumps of human **** that they have to pull through the class. As one of those 5 people in my Spanish class I would ask those who thought project based learning in groups worked to get the **** out of education and crawl back into the little cave they crawled out of.

EDIT: Wow, I just realized how much I swear when I get angry.

Furie certainly seems to be a man after my own heart, the three posts on the previous page I couldn't agree with more. That stupidity with the 'I'm not racist BUT' is just the daftest thing ever.

Now I like Facebook, (even though Twitter is ten thousand times better) but it's when people just use it to get sympathy, 'man I'm so ugly' REALLY get's my wick.

I am not sure if you meant me to read it this way, Furie, but I see it as a get at Vodafone which I am very happy with you doing. It is overpriced and rather useless. I was in Scotland last week and everyone has signal...apart from me, I would have to hold my phone up to the ceiling :'(

In answer to what Smithy said about Gangnam Style, there is nothing better than a jolly dance to Gangnam Style wherever you are!

In answer to what Intricks says about kids screaming when they win on multiplayer, I don't play enough multiplayer games to really know what this is about, but I imagine it would be annoying, 12 year olds shouldn't even be playing >.< As I don't want to dismiss it outright if a couple more people agree I shall also put it in Room 101.

Maybe not a few months ago, or if you hadn't already whored it already and yet continued to still think it was funny (not you, in general).

I'll add something Facebook related.

Three that came to mind right away:
- People who post pictures of their food to facebook.
- People who drive slower than the posted speed limit in the passing lane on the highway.
- People who drive over-aggressively on the highway, dodging between cars & changing lanes frequently.

Sorry, I'm against you here.

For some subjects, if you're specialising then yes. I think that for maths or physics, the ability to work through formula and equations is enhanced by producing work through constant repetition of the disciplines involved. The more you do, the better you become at it.

However, the real world is ALL project based. Every job you do will be "project based". For a rocket scientist or engineer, then all that practice with maths and equations will allow you to work on those projects - hence why that's important.

For anything else though, you're thrown in at the deep end. You may know the exact chemical composition of H2SO4 and how to produce it in the lab, but that doesn't mean you know how to use it in a paint mixture, or if you're asked to produce a filtration system, how you could use it in a practical way to cleans certain properties.

Learning by rote doesn't teach you how to think, it teaches you to remember. Project based learning teaches you how to actually use knowledge.

Not every job is suited to project based learning, but you'll find that the majority of them are. What employers want is a new employee who can hit the ground running and immediately handle the tasks given to them - they don't need a list of dates/numbers/figures/facts - they need you to do a specific job.

Plus, all knowledge is now at our fingertips. I don't need to know the equations for trig, or how to calculate corporate tax - I can just look it. Now, what to do with those things, and how they can be used - that's the important thing.

Agreed, but the middle one especially. Though there's worse. I had it (always have it) on the way to Alton Towers yesterday.

People who go at 40mph in the 60mph zones, but when they hit a 30mph zone, they don't slow down.

Okay, it's all country lanes to Alton and not everybody has the confidence/stupidity I do to actually do 60mph on some of those roads. You can push it a little though and 45-50 would be acceptable.

By not varying your speed when you hit a built up 30mph area though just shows that you shouldn't be on the road. You don't have enough confidence/ability to drive down challenging roads, and you don't have the intelligence or respect (or have even observation) to drive carefully where caution should be applied. In other words, you are too dumb to be on the road, so get off it!

Parents who try to lie and get their kids in for cheaper rates. Yesterday I watched a girl who must of been 6/7 get told she's under 3 and don't say anything, but my workmate challenged them and they had to pay the full child rate.
Similarly I once had a family who's daughter had a "I'm 5 badge" on and they tried to blag that she was under 3, but said is it her birthday and caught them out. Just amazes me the lengths people go to just save money.

I understand it's expensive, but just trying to fraud us and thinking we're minimum wage idiots is another thing.

In New Jersey and New York it's literally the only way you can get to your destination.

It wasn't in NY &NJ where the scary parts were. Well, not so much scary, rather more uncomfortable and over compensating jerkyness.

On the days I'm feeling courteous/nice, when I decide to let someone out onto a main road because of lots of traffic behind me, and they do one of these two things:
1.) Don't raise their hand in a gesture of "thanks"
2.) Drive like a ****ing grandma, and I get stuck behind them for the rest of my route

I love it when the entire highway is open to them and they have to get in front of you. 5 lane highway and I'm in the 2nd from the left, and they come all the way over to drive 50 in front of me.

I also hate the two-banger semis (two trailers), they're just incredibly awkward on the highway and they're a pain in the ass to try and pass when the only open lane is right next to them. It's also a whole lot of fun with a gust of wind at the same time :|

This reminds me that I also hate truckers who try to pass other trucks on a 2-lane highway by swinging into the passing lane and proceeding to drive only slightly faster. Then the guy in the cruising lane gets a bruised ego & ups his speed, and pretty soon we've got a dead heat where nobody can pass anybody!

It gets even worse when they pull this stunt while driving uphill in a mountainous area, as their payloads weigh them down & they end up driving 10-15 MPH under the speed limit. :angry7:

I actually don't find lorry drivers too bad on the motorway, noway near as bad as mugs on the phone or rear-bumper drivers who flash and expect you to squeeze your car into a minute space on the inside so they can do the exact same thing to the car in front.

My dad moans about the thing with the truckers/lorries on motorways all the time, so I shall add them to Room 101. Anyone who lives in the East of the UK (i.e. myself, ATTACKHAMMER, Stone Cold, can't think of anyone else) will, I would think, agree with us on this as this is an common occurrence on the Devil's Road, the A14,,, Britain's most lorry-dense road.

I was watching the TV version of Room 101 Sunday and sneezing was mentioned. What do you guys think? I rather like sneezing but can see why it could be seen as the MOST annoying thing ever so tell me what you think :)
