Double the fun and go round on the rides twice - guaranteed!

Throughout May, guests visiting Chessington during the week will get a Groundhog Day feeling as all the rides will go round twice – guaranteed*! Dragon’s Fury, Vampire, Rameses Revenge and the brand new KOBRA are just some of the rides that will keep on going and going to ensure it’s double the fun all the way.

Take on the KOBRA – twice! Get soaking wet on Rameses Revenge – twice! Fly like a bat out of hell on Vampire – twice! And for good measure, you can go round on the Carousel, Tiny Truckers and Seastorm – twice, and watch the sealion presentation, Wild Wood Animal Antics and the gorilla scatter feed – twice!

If going around twice on the rides all day makes you want a double dose, a perfect two-day ticket is available with the ‘Roar & Snore Squared’ package at the Holiday Inn Chessington next door, offering one night bed and breakfast with a two-day ticket to the park for just £179 per couple or £199 for a family of four.

The Groundhog Days will be available every weekday (Monday – Friday) between 5 – 28 May, excluding 6th May. For more information and to book, please visit www.chessington.com

* During Groundhog Day, rides will go round more than once, however if there is extensive queuing at any time they may stop for a short period to clear the queue.

So yes, more rides for your buck if you go on an empty day where it would be likely that there'd be no queue anyways

Personally I look forward to the 10 minutes on Carousel...

Finally a good Merlin advertising campaign!

This sounds really cool, won't the queues get horrendous, though?

Exactly why they're only doing it on the weekdays, when most of the time the rides are walk-on anyways

Yeah it is a good idea.

Even when parks are dead, most annoying ride ops would still make you get off and walk round etc.

^ Thats not our decision, it's the managers decision...
We are all for re-rides, but they as it's easier for us operators..

It really doesn't work properly... It was scrapped the first 10 minutes of the first day.. It's being trialed again now, but as a trial run.

So that would be four cycles then seeing as I've never seen it run just one per go. **** that!

What happens if someone wants to get off the ride the first time? Will the train actually stop in the station or just kinda roll through?

I would have thought they'd stop. Remember on Fury, the restraints open automatically, so you'd still have the opportunity to get (on Fury at least).

We simply ask you if you'd like another go, if not, you can get off - but we don't load anybody until the ride has finished its second programme.

Does that mean that the park will still be operating the groundhog feature on the 28th of may (i.e Friday)?
