Random trip to Clarence Pier

Ollie

CF Legend
Well we randomly decided yesterday evening to hop in the car and go to Clarence Pier. So myself and my older and younger brother set off. First we picked up my older brothers friend Lee as he wanted to come as well.

It's taken me ages to get the credits here. They're only a couple of miles away from me yet I've never been bothered to go and ride them. :p

Anyway we arrived at the Pier at around 8ish.
We parked the car and wandered around for a bit. There's not many rides there and it's all crammed into a tiny area. First off we couldn't find the token booth. Then we came across it randomly when we were looking at another ride. There was only 2 rides I wanted to do, Skyways (4 tokens) and Cyclone (3 tokens). So not bad at only £3.50 (50p per token).

First up was the Cyclone. I'd already done a clone of this on the 1st January this year in Hyde Park (London one not Germany. :p). And I enjoyed that one so I hopped on this one. :)
Some of you may recognise it as it was the coaster on Mr Bean (the episode where he fell asleep on it).
The ride is pretty run. It's got pretty big seats so you slide around alot. And the bars quite high up so when you get airtime you float out your seat. :p
It's got a nice headchopper on the second drop and two really fast helix's.

Going down the second drop.

In case you forget what it's called.

The track and supports are really thin and look like they'll snap at any moment.

After getting that credit we headed over to Cyclone, which is a kinda bike thing where you pedal to do loops. The cycle is really long and I got dizzy pretty fast as the circles are tight. I lost count how many times I went upside down. The cool thing is though that if you pedal fast then slow down when you're almost upside down you can then try and balance it so you're stuck upside down. :p I think I managed to stay up there around 7 seconds on one attempt which is pretty difficult.
There' two bikes side by side and each takes two riders. I went on my own one and my brothers went on the other (Lee didn't ride anything).

Going up.

Putting the ground above you.

Fully upside down.

After the Cyclone we went into the arcade which had a Pirates of the Caribbean thing outside it. :p

We all then had a game of Air Hockey before heading home.

On the way home Lee found a balaclava under the seat. And we played '99 red balloons' really loudly in the car to show the Gangsters of Portsmouth how cool we were.

And here's a short video I put together.
